  1. I just did a a MH Dept sponsored Pain Clinic at my VMC (about 6 wks X 1 per). Besides supplying me with an Essential Oil Pain mixture (been using it for over a year, shit really works), 1 of the meditation exercises involved listening to a recorded CD. After about 4 min of listening, I was gone, the Dr had to snap me out of it. Bro, did I feel good and refreshed, I was feeling no pain, at least for awhile.

You get a chance, Secure MHV Msg your MH Clinician, they should be able to get you a copy of the CD to try. Worth a shot, right.

I know which CD's you are referring to.  They were actually helpful, most were knowledge and techniques that I have used in the past but haven't used in a while. Some were similar to other techniques and the rest were PTSD 101 type aids.    I stopped going to the VA medicals centers about a year and a half ago.  I don't trust VA docs and OKC VAMC burned me several times too many.  I have been exclusively private care since then.

I've done cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, self talk methods, and even the PTSD program on the iPhone for a while.  Some methods were helpful, some still are, but none are taken care of by the VA any more.  I pay out of pocket, well after my DOD retiree health benefits that is.

The hard part for me is trusting the provider and the was difficult in the beginning but is easy now is to keep an open mind and use all the tools and techniques.

Do you work? or have another income besides VA?

I DON'T TRUST THE VA Dr's either  but I can't afford private insurance....unless you get medicaid? from SSA? or Private Insurance?

I would use private Docs if I had the insurance.

until I win the lottery or I one of my long last rich relatives passes and leaves me a fortune I'm, stuck at the VA  eh!

Arng, the CD was 1 of those listen to the ladies soft voice, while trying to empty your head. never had that tried back in 10, while in group. It supposed to be a relatively new CD. Won't hurt to give it another go, right.

See if they can hook you up with the "Essential Oil Pain Mixtures, sounds like Voo Doo Medicine but actually works.

  2. C. Attig has always (back in 2010) recommended the use of a "Sworn Affidavit" as opposed to a Stmt in Support of Claim. If you've read his articles, you see his Legal reasoning, seemed sound to me back in 2010 when I started using the "SA." The DRO at my 06/14 Hearing seemed impressed by the use of the "SA."

You need to consider the type of VA Claim you have submitted, is it an FDC? If you send in additional (Post Claim Submission) Documents/Evidence, you risk the FDC becoming a Reg A$$ Claim that could take 18+ mos instead of the FDC 4 to 6 mos for a Decision.

Then again, if you think your initial SC Claim is lacking the needed Evidence for an Award, a Denial Appeal will add 2++ yrs. What does your POA VSR advise you to do?

      Hi Gastone,

Thank you for the prompt response.  Right now, I'm at 60% (Knee, PTSD, Tinnitus).

About three months back, the VA conducted a few tests and indicated  that I have Severe Sleep Apnea.  They prescribed me a CPAP to use at home.

20 years I ago, while in the service, I was labeled with mild sleep apnea.  I wasn't given a CPAP and just left it at that because I wouldn't have used one anyways.

I just found documents indicating this information two days ago in my attic.

On August 14th, I submitted a FDC  for lower back & sleep apnea as a secondary service connected to PTSD.  I dont know whether to ride this out as secondary service connected to ptsd or request for this claim to be changed to service connected.  I think submitting the proof is important and would save everyone a lot of time.

A sworn affidavit would be ideal.   The Veterans Law Blog indicates the  VA 21-4138 from is constantly overlooked and holds no weight.

The VSO here in Las Vegas is useless.  They are arrogant know-it-alls who seemingly and purposely delay every request that I make.  We are incompatible. I don't want to deal with them anymore.

Any guidance helps, thank you kindly.

  3. Berta: Update from my 2010 CAD post. My Quad Bipass was an automatic 30%SC, due AO Nam. Thank You, better late than never.

  4. Have you applied to the VA Vocational Rehabilitation Dept yet? Even Vet's with PTSD @ 50% SC, might be determined by a Voc Rehab Professional to be Unemployable due solely to the PTSD SC. A Voc Rehab Denial Letter could help.

Then there's always the possibility that your really not IU. Your apparent historic Alcohol and Drug problems appear to be the real problem.

The VA Voc Rehab might be able to help find some sort of employment, where you really don't have to work with other people, possibly self-employment. There's a big difference when it comes to dealing with customers as opposed to co-workers.

  5. Problem posting on reg site.

Besides getting Hadit Vet's opinions, which to one degree or another are always helpful, do some research on the BVA Decision page for 2015 & 16-17. Just put in your DX and see what the BVA decided regarding Denials as well as Awards.

  6. Somethings going on with Hadit today, unable tp post replys below your question.

So, here's my 2 cents. Don't sweat the Comp amounts, the reason will be discussed in the Award Letter.

Your post indicated that this 100% Bump was not filed for or requested by you, right. Somebody at the VMC and VA Rating Dept doing their job. That works for you right.

As to the 100% T & P future exam question, are you North or South of 55? VA supposedly (per VA Reg) doesn't schedule C & P Re-exams once you hit 55 unless you're claiming a Secondary Issue.

Again, your Award Letter will say "No Future Exams Scheduled," otherwise future Re-Exams at 3 to 5 yr intervals should be expected.

Could you post a redacted copy of your recent Cardiac Clinician Notes, does he mention no possible future improvement expected or possible?

  7. Jl, what did the RO issued SSOC contain as far as instructions for continuing your Appeal at the BVA?

Have you heard anything from your VSO, or tried to contact them regarding your SSOC and Appeal options?

  8. A-NOD, as my norm, I'm checking with the Pro from Dover (YOU) somewhat my recently Request for an A and A,  Award. Just got the DX end of 09/2018. If I'm not mistaken, the proeperly DR's A & A Completion and my  Private and VMC Med Records will seal the deal. DX should make me eligible for the SMC (L?%), never thought I'd be in this area.

If you have occasion, your thoughts would be appreciated.
