  1. Hi PAWBI, I just read that you hired a doc in Ohio to write your nexus letter for Sleep apnea secondary to PTSD.  Was it Dr. Todd Finnerty? I hired him to write a nexus letter for the same condition.  It was a pretty solid letter. If you hired him, how did you make out. Thank you.

I'll add to this conversation.  My stepdad is currently SC for  PTSD @ 70%  Filed for sleep apnea and did get a IMO from Valor4Vet...of course denied!  Now, the rater made some incredible leaps in judgment which I'll argue later but one thing the rater noted was the IMO was "unbelievable".  Now I did reread the IMO from Valor4Vet and it was kind of weak.  So I decided to get a second letter from a different doctor in Ohio (if I recall) and I'll submit that new IMO as well as argue the outlandish leaps the rater made in the original decision and see how that works.  I have not received the new letter yet but I'll update the situation when I do.

Johnny_Drama is better to ask...My stepdad's decision was a year or so ago.  But if I remember with Johnny Drama from filing the HLR to the decision was less than 45 days.

So I went and looked at my step dads file.  So he was originally turned down for sleep apnea in 2018.   I filed his first supplemental claim with a nexus letter from another company I used on 3/25/2021 he was denied on 4/2/2021.  I got the Dr. Finnerty letter and filed another supplement claim (using Dr. Finnerty letter as "new" and "relevant" evidence) on 5/11/2021 and a decision was made 6/18.  ON this one we did not have to do a HLR...Dr. Finnerty letter did the trick in his case...

      GulfWarVet1990 Hope all is well

So my stepdad did get his increase with Dr. Finnerty letter.  You are right his work is very solid.  I have recommended him to a few Vets on here.  Another vet Johhny_Drama just got his 100% maybe a week ago using Dr. Finnerty and after several years of fighting so he was real excited.  As was the case with my stepdad and Johnny_Drama the connection didn't happen until the HLR....it just seems the rating officials at the beginner level or supplemental level just don't get it and it isn't until you argue it with the HLR that it clicks with the rater and the make the right decision.  So I hope yours works out and let me know if I can assist in any way. Thats what we are on here for
