My claim was closed after just 90 days under the BBD program. I was shocked that it was that quick. Claim started in Winston-Salem and moved to St. Pete. Date of retirement: 31 May 13 Claim closed: 1 Sep 13.

AICD/Cardiomyopathy - 100% Proteinuria and hypertension - 60% Sleep Apnea - 50% Diabetes mellitus type II and ED - 20% (it did not say anything about SMC-K, I'm going to check on this.) Gout - 20% Tinnitus - 10% Shoulders/Knees/Patellofemoral syndrome with brace - 10% Just waiting on my dependents to be added. If forget to provide the total number of times my spouse has been married...only one time. Also, I have to provide my daughters school info. Now, I need to do some research on the following statement "We granted entitlement to SMC effective 1 June 13 because you are housebound." Once again, thanks for all the advice that this forum offers.

Question...I just received my fedx package for my QTC appointments. Is it normal to get scheduled for a Echocardiogram exam since I already have a AICD for Cardiomyopathy? I have had it for 3 years, implanted while on active duty. Effective retirement date is 1 Jun 13.

Using the Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD), to file my VA claim on 2 Jan 13 for an Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (2010), Obstructive sleep apnea with CAP, Diabetes mellitus type II., Nonischemic dilated cardiomyopathy with history of congestive heart failure. All the mentioned issues were taken directly from my last MEB paper, but I was returned to duty. I am retiring from the Air Force after 25 years, now the waiting game begins. Is there anyone out here that have gotten out within the last 2 years that has gotten approved for 100% for an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. I'm still on active duty and retiring in 6 months. I have inquired before, but, I'm confused. Help.

Correct, the MEB came back with a return to duty but I now have a DC of 7020 from the MEB for Cardiomyopathy with a AICD.

From reading 38 CFR 3.303(a) http://www.benefits....ART3/S3_303.DOC my condition is service connected. My ACID was implanted due to Cardiomyopathy, which is DC 7020. So, correct me if I'm wrong, I'll be evaluated under DC 7020-7011. Thanks for leading me down the right path. I'm just trying to figure this all out. Because, from reading 7011 about ACID's it states that it's a 100% rating. 7011 Ventricular arrhythmias (sustained): For indefinite period from date of hospital admission for initial evaluation and medical therapy for a sustained ventricular arrhythmia, or; for indefinite period from date of hospital admission for ventricular aneurysmectomy, or; with an automatic implantable Cardioverter- Defibrillator (AICD) in place........................................................................... 100

I just had my implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) surgery done last week. After I go through my recovery period, I'll be facing a MEB. From what I've been hearing I'll be receiving a 100% disability rating? Can I apply for my benifits before I retire, because I'm retirement eligible also? Thanks for all the advice.

Can anyone explain Combat-Related Special Compensation to me? For example, is it based on your overall va rating? Or, for only the injuried knee etc, not for the overall rating? Thanks in advance.

That's good to here. I'm still on active duty and after the surgery I'll be facing a MEB. The good thing is that I'm already over 20 yrs in the AF. I'm going to sit back and see how things play out. Thanks......

I have a implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) surgery date for Jun 10. Hopefully I have been reading the DC's correct. I think I'll be receiving a 100% disability rating? Am I correct? If so, do I have to go through C&P yearly? Any advise.......thanks everyone.

I'm going to have a implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placed in my chest in Jun 10. Correct me if I'm reading this the wrong what.
