PCP has me on 3 per day, but for last 6-8 months I have only been taking an average of 1 or less, so now I will ween myself off if I can. Thanks all for advise and concerns.

Just got letter from pcp and he is reducing my hydrocodone from 7.5 to 5.0mg. Reason is he just got results of pulmonary function test--studies compatible with severe obstructive pulmonary disease. Studies indicate the serious side effects of respiratory depression and death this medication can cause. My copd is not a service connected disease. anybody else ever hear of this?

Get a copy of examination asap. If it doesn't have the magic words of "at least as likely" or "more likely than not it may cause trouble for you.

It took them 3 months to answer "if you have additional questions please use the above space within 14 days. Oh! I didn't post in wrong place as this question was about a c & p exam that I have been waiting on since July 2013. But my VSO said to call him back on Jan 21 if I hadn't heard anything so that will be close to 14 days for reply.

I put in a IRIS question on 10/19/2013, I received a reply from them on 1/1`0/2014.. and they still didn't answer the question, just referred to Muskogee RO. But they did apologize for taking so long to get back to me...

Called my VSO today and was informed that mine had been changed for the third time since July 2013. But I finally did get some information, not just call back in 30 days. Myself and 23 other veterans are still waiting for a scheduled c&p. A RO supervisor informed him that some one had lit a fire under their asx. and it should be scheduled by January 16th.. I will wait as I have no other choice, but I won't hold my breath. This is at the Muskogee, Oklahoma RO.

July 2013, had meeting with RO scheduled.......Cancelled and wait for new C & P Exam. 4 months now and still no exam scheduled. This was for A & A NOD. Asked Iris last month and still no answer from them either. VSO advised me to call back in a month. Just more of the run around, but I have patience.

Just a update.. Been almost 2 months and still no C & P scheduled. Called Oklahoma Veterans today and he says to wait a couple of more weeks and call back. All he finds out is it been requested since July.

Did you keep a copy of the NOD? Look there to see if you asked for DRO review.

Well..VA's games have started. On Monday the 22nd, I was notified by Vet rep (Oklahoma Veterans) that the DRO meeting scheduled for the 23 of July has been cancelled because they need another c&p exam. PCP and last 2 c & p says A & A needed also 2 social worker at VA clinic. I don't see the point because even if new c & p says no; the benefit of doubt and 5 positive should make it moot, but we know what one they will go by. But we have to keep a good mental outlook because we know the games will continue. I even asked them to send to the VA Central Office for advisory opinion.

Muskogee, Oklahoma. If it works; good if not we can still send whatever we think is best for us. I still have an open mind until I see the end result. jmo

Maybe this new NOD form will work. I sent the nod in on June 26, 2013 and got notice today that my requested hearing with DRO is scheduled for July 23, 2013. We shall see what happens.

Got the results back from this claim. Just as I figured, all denied. (no surprise). VA form 21-2680 shows you are able to feed yourself, are not legally blind and do not require nursing home care. You cannot prepare your own meals. You require medication management as well as assistance with bathing and hygiene needs. You are able to ambulate with the assistance of a walker. Entitlement to SMC based on aid and attendance/housebound is denied as the evidence does not show you are permanently bedridden or in need of regular A/A, and are not substantially confined to your house due to service connected disabilities. I am only 70% but have TDIU pay at 100%. I don't know if I am ready to mentally deal with them at this time to even to file a nod. This has been a terrible time for me as I have been physical sick since Christmas with non service connected problems. But, I still have plenty of time to file nod or re-consideration if I so decide in a few weeks.

Got it up tonight and said decision made and notification by mail is coming. I feel it strange that e-bennies would show that on the same day. Aren't they susposed to been after the fact? Well checked all the items where It might show something including my bank account but nothing else showed up. Doesn't look too promising , but will wait a few more days for the snail mail. Didn't hear from the VSO either. Just got out of hospital today with flareup of COPD, antibodies steroid loosened the lungs up enough to improved breathing and stopped 95% of the hacking cough.
