  1. I never signed a Poa for anyone. I talked to someone via phone a few years ago from the American legion office but I'm never seen anyone face to face. Someone must have forged my signature. I've been doing my claims myself with no assistance from anyone. The Dav stated that more than likely they were doing an audit and that's why the money was withheld. I going to locate an American Legion office and talk to them to see if they can look into my files to make sure they're doing an audit
  2. Yes that's what I was thinking. Award date was May 12, 2023 the date I submitted my intent to file. Award date was December 13, 2023, which is 7 months of retro pay. which is $1851 x7. I only recieved $4200 for that time period for retro pay, I wasn't paid the difference between the 80% rate $2095 and the 100% which is $3946. I was told by a Dav that they may be withholding retiree's retro pay until an audit is completed to ensure no monies are owed. They said that they couldn't look at my records because I was represented by the American Legion, whom I never talked to about anything. I assume when I retired in 2009 I was assigned to them.
  3. Dec. 29, 2023 $2,898.26 Compensation & Pension - Recurring Direct Deposit WELLS FARGO BANK ******7520 Dec. 19, 2023 $4,283.34 Compensation & Pension - Retroactive Direct Deposit WELLS FARGO BANK ******7520 Dec. 1, 2023 $2,094.15 Compensation & Pension - Recurring Direct Deposit WELLS FARGO BANK ******7520 Nov. 1, 2023 $2,094.15 Compensation & Pension - Recurring Direct Deposit WELLS FARGO BANK ******7520 Sept. 29, 2023 $2,094.15 Compensation & Pension - Recurring Direct Deposit WELLS FARGO BANK **** Sept. 1, 2023 $2,094.15 I'm still trying to figure this out, this is my recurring payment from va. I became 100% effective 1 june 2023 they stated that I was paid 2808.04 when I was paid $2094 and they held $1015 for concurrent pay, payed $2898.26 dec 2023 $1047 withheld due to concurrent pay, I will receive full payment next month of $3946. Why are they holding pay for concurrent pay when I'm already receiving concurrent pay at the 80% rate. retire army
  4. I'm trying to figure how Va calculate retroactive backpay. I was rated at 80% prior to submitting my intent to file. My intent to file was submitted around 14 March 2023. I recently received a rating of 100% around December 2023. Around 9 months. Should I be receiving the difference between 80 and 100% which would be around 1800 per month for 9 months, or should I receive 20% x 9 months. I received a deposit of $4200 with isn't adding up. Any help calculating this is appreciated.
  5. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the support and feedback. Just wanted to give you all an update. I finally received my rating back this week. Great news I went from 80% to 100%. I finally decided to submit my claim for PTSD as directed by Va health provider, alone with a few other claims. They were submitted in May; I really wasn't expecting them to come back as soon as they did. I think the main key was that I ensured that I submitted the documents myself and didn't rely on them getting them their self. And called to verify that they were in the system. It cut the time lag down. Once again thanks to all and keep moving and don't give in.......
  6. I had my video conference today for Ptsd, you were right it only lasted about 35 minutes, it went smoother than I thought it would. She stated that she would write it up right away and get it to the Va asap. I have the rest of my C&P appointments tomorrow. They scheduled them on Sunday. So, I assume they won't be busy.
  7. I put a claim in for Ptsd, Anxiety, and depression after talking with my Va health provider. She said that I should apply after talking with her for a few years about some issues I was having. I was reluctant to for a long time, but I finally decided to apply. I received an appointment for a Telecom DBQ initial Ptsd Dsmv. They said it would be about a 120 minute meeting. I was just wondering if anyone had gone thru this process and what to expect. I had one similar a few years back with a Mental health doctor by Video conference and they stated that I had anxiety disorder and Depression, I can't remember what was said about Ptsd. They just asked a lot of questions about my deployments. Have to go back and check the notes. They wanted me to try the medication. I'm taking Prazosin for nightmares, Lorazapem for anxiety and depression, zolpheim for insomnia. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. and what's the next step after the video conference, will there be any additional meeting.
  8. I filed for anxiety, and ptsd about a month ago. They request that I complete a va form 21-0781, and 21-0781a. What is the reason that I have to complete the 0781a because I wasn't assaulted or anything like that. I'm filing due to combat stressors only. I was informed to file by my Va health care provider after talking with her about the issues I was having. I talked the Mental health provider via teleconference due to Codvid at the time about a year ago or so. I went back and reviewed their notes that stated that I had anxiety disorder and depression. My Va health provider stated that she diagnosed me with Ptsd, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Which I'm currently taking medication for. After my last visit I decided to go ahead and file for it after waiting over a year. I completed the forms and loaded them on the system. I was wondering if I should get a lay statement from my wife if it would help the process. or possible friends.
  9. I 'm looking for some assistance I put in a claim for PTSD and Anxiety base on guidance from my Va health care provider. She stated that I had anxiety, depression and ptsd. I've talked to her about some issues that I've been having for some years now, and I just recently decided to act on them. She referred me to a M.H doctor back in 2019, I talked to them on a zoom call because Codvid was going on at that time. They questioned me on two different occasions by zoom. I looked back at the notes and they stated something about me having anxiety disorder and depression. I'm currently taking medication for nightmares, insomnia and anxiety prescribed by my Va health provider. I haven't talked back with the MH doctor since the zoom call. Just talking with buddies that been thru the same situation. Claim was submitted in March, VA requested that they needed specific details of the stressful incident(s) in service that resulted in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). and specific details of the combat related incident(s) that resulted in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I'm kind of stuck for some reason, I've been trying to locate some kind of example of what they're looking for. Some starting point. I've been deployed four times Saudi, Kuwait x2, and the last one in 2006-2008 Bagdad Iraq. Retired in 2010. Any guidance will be appreciated
  10. Yes I’m currently at 80%, maybe it was misunderstood, I meant to say that I had only talked to the psychologist twice over the zoom and that I hadn’t attempted to file for anxiety or ptsd yet. The claims that I have were from when I retired and secondary increases. I was just starting the process for the anxiety and ptsd. I just started this after talking with my primary Va doctor and she said that I should talk to mental health after mentioning my issues. After talking to mental health the second time we had a group orientation on zoom and talked about some classes, I didn’t”t refuse any treatment nor have I started any. I was prescribed the medication for nightmares and insomnia. I was waiting for some feedback from my doctor to move forward. I have a appointment with her on the 7th of February. I think I have to call mental health back to initiate the process, not sure though. The didn’t meant it so that why I was asking the next step. Thanks for you feedback.
  11. I was looking for some assistance, I'm currently having some issues I'm working through. I talked to VA back in April, I was dealing with the problems on my own. They seemed to get worst after covid started. My primary VA doctor stated that I possibly had PTSD and referred me to mental health. Due to covid the appointment was done via video conference. The psychiatrist doctor stated that I had anxiety disorder and depression. Anxiety disorder score 21, Depression score 23, Pcl score 5, Ptsd score 67. I'm currently taking Zolpihem for insomnia, and Prazosin for nightmare. I had an appointment with them via video about a month later about possible taking some class, I haven't done anything else since the last appointment. No in office visit, don't feel comfortable doing the group thing. I haven't attempted to file any claims yet. Any feedback on my next steps moving forward. I have a 6 months follow up with my primary doctor next month. Since I'm no longer working, I feel it's time to work on this. Thanks for any feedback.
  12. I retired in 09, I just received an increase from 40% to 80%. When I was rated at 40% I ope, to receive the 40% from the Va due to it being tax free. Due to the concurrent pay policy DFAS withheld the same amount from my retirement check. Now that I'm over 50% I now receive my full retirement and the full 80% from VA. I received backpay from VA from 2020-2022, based on the date I submitted my claim/intent to file. I also received backpay from Dfas for the money that being withheld from my retirement, same timeframe. I asked them where they got the date from to backpay me . no one knew. I asked them if they were going to return all the money that was withheld from my retirement check. They stated that they had to research it and they would get back to me. So I'm waiting now. I have a buddy that retired in 08, and they went back to that 2008. The letter I received from the VA stated that the Defense Authorization Act of 2003 and 2004 had two programs where certain military retirees may have restored some or all of the retirement pay waived as required by law to receive disability compensation from them. Still researching and waiting for feedback from Dfas
  13. Greeting, No I didn't apply for CRSC. I just recently received my increase from 40% to 80% from the Va about two months ago. DFAS restored my retirement check to 100%, plus I'm recieving the full 80% amount from the Va right now. I received a check from Va for backpay from 2020 to 2022 , and also one from DFAS same time frame. I was informed by other vets that DFAS should have refunded all the money that was held from my retirement check dating back to 2010 when I retired from the military which they held due to the concurrent pay policy. They only went back to the date the claim was submitted. I'm missing about 10 years. I contacted Dfas to inquire about the dates. They couldn't tell me anything they stated that they had to research it. So I'm trying to figure out if they should backpay me all the money that was held from my retirement check from 2020 to 2022. Right now I'm waiting for there findings.
  14. I'm kind of a newbie on the forum, I registered years back and only made one post. I served 23 years in the army and retired in 2010. I was rated at 40% at the time of discharge. I really wasn't familiar with the claim process and didn't really attempt to bother. I'm currently rated at 80%. During the time I was receiving the 40% from the Va, DFAS was withholding 40% from my retirement check. They said due to being below 50% it was considered concurrent pay. I received retroactive back pay only back to my claim date of 2020 to 2022 which was about two years. I was informed by other vets in similar situation that Dfas should pay me the money back that was withheld from my retirement check from 2010 to 2020 with was about $670 to $700 a month now that I'm above 50%. Where is all the money they withheld. Anyone had any feedback on this situation. Thanks for your assi
  15. I'm new the Forum and in need of help. I recently retired from the army with 23 yrs of service. Two months now. I recieved a rating of 40%. I had a back injury two years ago and it was diagnosed as a lumbar strain. I've been taking muscle relaxants, and carambol for it. It extremely painful, more so after sleepin. And feet are numb in the morning.Hard to lift . I went to my doctor and then sent to a specialist. He said that I had inflammation in my back and needed to come back twice a week. He's a chiropactor. I'm waiting for the results of the xrays. I know it's more than a lumbar strain. I went to va to talk to my doctor for the first time, she stayed she would request my xrays from my doctor. My question is how do I go about submitting for a increase. I was rated at 10% for the lumbar strain. 10
