  1. Hi Everyone! I am currently receiving 30% combined from the VA. 10% of which is neurologic symptoms (migranes) associated with a subdemal hematoma. Should I file for an increase now since I am getting migraines more frequently or wait til my current claim is decided (Crohn's disease). Thanks!
  2. I was diagnosed with IBS and Crohn's at the same time. As I was looking at the codes, Can I recieve a seperate rating since I already recieve 10% for hiatal hernia?
  3. Long story short. I was admitted to the VA hospital for 5 days with a DX of Crohns disease. At one point during my stay, a nurse came in with an insulin shot. I told her that I am not diabetic! She left and said "Don't tell anyone". The same night, another nurse came in and told me the doc ordered insulin and she gave me insulin. Should I be worried? Can insulin be harmful if I am not diabetic?
  4. Congrats! Glad to see veterans finally getting what is deserved!
  5. Thanks for the advice! Pain is something I have to deal with on a daily basis! Some days are better than others of course, but some days it takes its toll. When I was first diagnosed, the doctor at the VA clinic told me that I should quit my present job (FedEx) because of the physical demands. Eventually, I had to quit.
  6. Is it rated as Ulcerative Colitis since both are forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease?
  7. Sorry, I looked for the definition but I couldn't find what an IMO is. :) Never mind, I found it! Another opinion! I cannot afford to use any other health care beyond the VA right now unfortuantly!
  8. Hi everyone! I am currently receiving 30% compensation. I was medically discharged from the Army in 2006 because of a unknown digestive disorder. Last year, I was admitted to the VA hospital in Atlanta for about 1 week and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I went back through many of my medical records from the military and I found some evidence. One exam stated that "SM possibly has Crohn's disease". I filed a claim with the VA last July. I received a copy of the C&P exam and the opinion by the doc was not good. He stated that "it is LESS than likely that the diagnoses of crohn's is due to service". "Even though SM had similar symptoms in the military that he is currently having, it overburdens the logic of cause and effect that inservice event is related to Crohn's". Here's the confusing part, even though the doc stated his opinion, the RO is still requesting VA medication lists and evidence from the medical center. Should I get ready for an appeal? Thanks!
  9. Yes, I have had the pain consistently but never enough to make a big deal about it. The pain used to come and go, but now its pretty much everyday. The medications are helping, but it still sucks. Thanks for the reply
  10. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and I have found it very useful so far. I have a few questions and I hope that they can be answered. I was MEB from the Army in 11/2006 for undiagnosed consistent abdominal pain and nausea. I was awarded 0% from the Army with severance pay. Well this year, I had severe abdominal pain and was admitted into the VA hospital and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I was admitted a second time 2 months later for severe ulceration and inflammation in my ileum and was prescribed many meds to treat my condition. Here is my question.....In the Army I went through many test to find out what was going on. I requested my medical records from the Army hospital and found out that the small-bowel follow-thru exam stated I had loss of normal mucosa and I "Possibly had Crohns disease". I immediately filed a VA compensation claim for this condition. After my C%P exam (4 months ago) I requested a copy of the exam. The doctor stated "it is less than likely that my current diagnosis is related to in-service event". I am really upset at these findings and I feel that the doc didn't look at my medical records thoroughly. What can I do???? Thanks.
