  1. Asking for clarification: I thought the purpose for a medical opinion is to determine service connection. In 2008 I retired with 20 years and did the BDD program while in Germany. I was given service connection for three issues at 0% each. I immediately sent in my NOD and like most it was never received. Eventually I got it in and in 2009 got my appeal in. I had my date with the BVA and a VLJ, remaneded in 2010 for further development (C&P) for an increase in the three issues as the previous C&P was inadequate. I have been to two C&P's since: one terrible, one favorable. The 800 number said decision made waiting for 2nd signature then a week later said deferred, and now they say records transferred to VA medical center for a medical opinion/examination. Anyone know why a medical opinion would be needed when service connection has already been established? Doesn't sound good to me.
  2. Had my BVA hearing and remanded for inadequate C&P exam. Read up on C&P exam and looked over VA checklist then went to my exam (Loch Raven Maryland). I just received the doctors report, what a joke. All lies, never included my comments of flareups....never took a single range of motion measurement and despite my assertion of pain during range of motion he stated no pain and no limitations. 20 years as a tanker, acl replacement, shoulder surgery, fractured thumb twice and I'm as fit as a fiddle. As much as I thought military docs were quacks atleast they have some idea of the occupational hazards associated with the various military occupations. I hope no one has to endure the type of examiner I had. Thank goodness I stayed long enough to get a pension!
