  1. I won't be estatic until I actually see it. I already know what I'll do... have the house painted, pay for my kid's college, give something back to the food pantry for their help, all important non wastefull stuff. My big splurge will be a new washer and kitchen stove. Thanks guys for all your support.
  2. From what I understand the decision was made in Aug. and went through the first review all the way up to the signature stage. It has gone back to the rating team twice for "corrections" which are supposedly connected to my IU claim. So, the rater has decided it two times so far and I am waiting on the 3rd. I won the appeal in June, so it is so frustrating that 3 months later, I don't even know what my new percentage will be.
  3. My Atty said that the VA won't change it's laws overnight and that this may indeed slow my money down. The RO MAY send it back to Washington as the new law states they are the ones to set the retro amt. and date. I am also not supposed to know that my case is in this special review. When I called the 800# this morning I was told that there was an "error" in the rating, and that the rating officer has been working since Aug. 28 to correct it. I am getting more worried each minute.
  4. This is great news. I forwarded it to my atty.
  5. I read the Comp. and Pen. exam and the examiner stated that I am able to manage my own funds. It is for PTSD and IU.
  6. I won a claim at the BVA after 11 years. They sent it to the RO to determine eff. date and retro. pay amt. Now the RO tells me that since the Retro exceeds 250k, it has to go through another step. Can anyone advise on how long this takes? Thanks in advance for your help.
  7. Hi, Thanks for your response. She made it very clear that I had not worked since then and that I was not at all able to work now. Thanks, HA Carlton
  8. Well, I have not asked for it yet and plan to wait. I just had hoped that since I have not worked in more than 5 years and that the examiner said I have total impairment, that they will award P\T instead of IU. I suppose I will just have to wait and see. Thanks, HA Carlton
  9. Ok, so can anyone help me with my original question? how should I expect this to go? Thanks, HA Carlton
  10. Well, I am 70% for other conditions. The PTSD has not been rated yet and that is what the exam was for.
  11. Sorry, my first post was blank. Am trying to figure this out. Can you post the regs. that you mentioned in this old post? I won a PTSD claim in June 09 that is backdated to 1997. My last time at work was 2004. I also had a TDIU claim pending. My rating exam was Aug 4 this year. The VA Dr. said "veteran has total social and occupational impairment" Now I wonder what percentage this will give me for PTSD and whether I will get P\T of the TDIU that I now wish I had never filed for. Any ideas? Thanks, HA Carlton
