  1. Ok , so i have been denied service connection for [pulmonary artery insufiency probably secondary to congenital bicuspid valve] fort the fourth time now. I have 3 heart echo reports proving the diagnosis was wrong . Here is my question? can i possibly change this claim to aggrivated in military service if i have a nexus letter from my doctor stating [as likely as not aggrivated by his military service] which i have. i was hospitalized in 1966 with that diagnosis i was S/C for PTSD 30% from the same hospital admitting for over a month [NAVAL HOSPITAL] I would think if i was sound to enter military service, that and the VA contends 4 times that it was a congenital condition then it surely must have been aggrivated at that time At this point i am at a loss
  2. I think i read somewhere that you could maybe get IU for many hospital admissions I have at least 24 admissions for heart and strokes I have the admissions and summaries and discharges from the hospital some hospital stays, not the VA hospital are over two weeks long stays I was SOCIAL SECURITY DISABLED SINCE FEBUARY 1998 I anm tired of fighting for beniefits

  4. I did recieve dependant acceptance for my wife after 24 months Well that was good BUT, with the VA there is always a BUT I am still denied on my heart claim the Va keeps saying it is a congenital bicuspid valve since i started the claim in 1984 ,i have given them evidence from my DR and through QTC that it is normal , i don't get it I asked for a increase of 30% PTSD comp ,they also stated i did not get 50 +% because they said i had PTSD when i enlisted ,i was not diagnosed until 2010 with PTSD ,and they write me a letter asking me was i asking for IU that they were confused.I don't know what to do now [should i ask for 100% IU and a increase for PTSD both or PTSD and 100% IU???? I do not get it I also have multiple forms from the navy hospital stating the diagnosis as DNEPE or [did not exist prior to enlistment] [can they not read the diagnosis] I sure am frustrated and confused OK! i do not have any more hair to pull out And i have gritted my teeth so much that now i have upper and lower falsies Maybe i will just contact a VA lawyer on MONDAY and see what he says???? Any suggestions???
  5. Yes i have won my stand alone suit Don't know how much yet
  6. Let me tell you bout AVANDIA!!!! I started AVANDIA in 1997 by the year 2004, i had 8 mycarial infractions [heart attack]18 heart catherizations,MULTIPLE ANGIOPLASTY,5 STENTS ,{ICD}DEFRIBULATR WITH PACEMAKER many TIA strokes with one large, and on small stroke on the left side, and many other TIA'S It gave me CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE,ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE,CARDIOVASCULAR DISTRESS ,24 TRIPS TO THE HOSPITAL,and any other heart problems you can think of. If you have taken it ,or are taking it ,trust me the med is not worth your life I changed to [MATMORPHIN 1000mg twice a day and i have no problems with reactions ,like i did with AVANDIA I am only telling you this ,to try and help [don't trust doctor with your life drugs] do some research on every drug to find out if the drug interacts with other drugs ,or has bad reactions ,that could kill you Live long enough to enjoy the VA benifits and your family for awhile I am convince that the VA doesn't care whether i or you die or not This drug got a warning label in 1998 ,but we trusted a doctor to tell us By the way i just got out of the hospital again because the DR put me on ISOBORBIDE which is dangerously lowers your heat rate and blood pressure within 5 miniutes In the end i guess it depends on what your body will stand [beware of new drugs] and do your reasearch, GOD bless you and all of the VETS on this site, and GOD bless the USA
  7. The VA did the same with my SSDI SOCIAL SECURITY said there were no smedical records for SSDI I was totally disabled in FEBUARY 1998 I wrote and asked SOCIAL SECURITY was the VA correct in saying they had no files I got a call from SOCIAL SECURITY one and one half months later and the lady on the phone told me that they did not keep records that old [they destroy old records] I told her what the problem was and what i needed was a letter from SOCIAL SECURITY stating the reason for my disability She wrote a letter stating the reason for disability was severe heart attack and stroke which disabled me I also did have my acceptance letter from SOCIAL SECURITY I put the two letters together and sent it to the VA Now i do not know if this is good enough for the VA but they have it and cannot deny i was disabled with the diseases You may write your local office and ask for someone to call you and talk to you Your SOCIAL SECURITY file has a code for your disability's All i had to do was to say what i thought i was disabled for Hope this helps
  8. Ok i did the two C&P exams first doctor documenred defib and pacemaker ,CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE .ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE,HEART ATTACKS XRAY SHOW DEFIB AND PACEMAKER .NO LUNG PROBLEMS NORMAL HEART. 2ND c&p WAS A DOPPLER ECHO ,WHICH CLAERLY SHOWED A TRICUSPID HEART VALVE [NORMAL] AND NOT A BICUSPID VALVE WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN DENIED FOR DISABILITY SINCE 1984 A 25% HEART EJECTION FRACTION This claim was closed for over 15 yrs after 4 denials because i had no more evidence to support the claim. In DECEMBER 2010 i had the same doppler with my private CARDIOLOGIST and had the same report I sent it to the VA as new and convincing evidence and they reopened the claim in JUNE 2010 I am going next WEDNESDAY and have another doppler exam by my private DR. Now if anyone give me advise: should i send the new private DR doppler report when i get it,or do i just let the QTC DR"S stand as evidence I guess what i am trying to say is more better or less better???
  9. Ok ,after fighting for SC for heart problems since 1984 ,and stacks of medical evidence and at least 4 denials. I am schduled for 2 cardiac C&P exams on MONDAY and TUESDAY JULY 30 and 31 2012. This is the first C&P that the VA has ordered since the very beginning. One is for a cardiologist doctor consultation and him confirming i have a defibulator ,murmor ,stents ,and 15 catherizations, with chronic ESCHIMIC HEART DISEASE,also that i have congestive heart failure among other things. The second exam is to check that my heart ejection fraction is less than 30% and that i have a tricuspid valve instead of a bicuspid valve. The congenital bicuspid valve is what the VA denied me for,but my doppler exam in 2010 proved that i have a normal heart which is a tricuspid valve. So basically the VA wants to verify everything , my question is ???? what does this mean,is this good news or bad I am hoping the end is in sight finally ,but i don't know Any thought from anyone???
  10. First of all thank you HADIT ,if it were not for you folks encourageing me and giving me advise ,i would have quit along time ago I got a call fron the VA yesterday THURSDAY JULY 5 2012 and the man on the other end said he was setting an appointment with a QTC heart specialist [YAAAA} I have been fighting this claim since 1984 with 3 VA denials and the VA closed the case because i had no more evidence with the VA denying me saying that i had a congenital heart valve Well in 2010 with a new heart doppler test , report , and cardiloigist statement proving my heart valve was normal and not abnormal as the VA used to deny me,I got the VA to reopen this case with new evidence proving that my heart was normal Now finally i am going to get a C&P to verify this condition I may not live to see my claim awarded ,but my wife of 46 years will I have told and instructed her,if needed to file for a EED back to 1998 when i was SOC SEC 100% disabled With heart problems I am only telling you folks that are discouraged with the VA , There is always new medical test coming out to help prove your case I am not ,or will not be discouraged, or submitt to what the VA says Please hang in there ,i would like to encourage you to fight the good fight In the end you will win if you have a legitamate claim the VA cannot deny due process if you have clear and unmistakable evidence There is alot more to my claim ,but i just feel great with the C&P upcoming exam I truly hope this is the right forum???
  11. I was in the US NAVY from APR 1964--FEB 1968 served in special ops capacity with UDT operatives and MARINE insurgents off the coast of CUBA I ran the boat for beach operations at night pickup and dropoff and training maneuvers My VSO did the same job in his NAVY service Was in the CARDIACT ward in the PORTSMOUTH VA. NAVY HOSPITAL 1966 For over a month was diagnosed with a bicuspid valve problem pulmonary artery insuffiency {claiming congenital heart condition] {I sent the VA my heart doppler echo of my heart and the DR's statement saying my heart had a tricuspid [which is normal] valve and not a bicuspid which [is congenetive and abnormal ]abnormal heart valve congenital is the reason for the VA denying my heart claim all these years. I think i may have to fire my VSO and hire a lawyer to get this mess straight ,all i get is runaround The CARDIOLIGIST stated my heart appeared to be normal in structure, and my valve was a tricuspid and not a bicuspid which made this in my mind a miss diagnosis code I recieved 100% SSDI in FEB 1998 permanent ffor massive heart attack and stroke on left side{quite severe] And 7 more TIA strokes Yes i did sign a release and consent form I am going to the SOC SEC office 75 mile away tomorrow I just think the VA is trying to stall and find any reason for denial
  12. I hope this is the right forum Today i got a letter from the VA concerning my cardiovascular claim for benifits I have been fightin since 1984 and am getting discouraged and deressed Really getting me frustrated The VA now says the SSA will not give them the medical records evidence for my 100% SSA disability What do i do now??? any suggestions would be appreciated
  13. Can someone give me any info or help with your opinions? I filed my claim for pulmonary artery insuffiency in 1984 stemming from a NAVAL hospital stay in a cardiact ward for over a month in 1966. i dropped the claims proceedure out of frustration and three denials the VA claiming that my heart disease was congenital. JULY 2010 i asked the VA to reopen the case, and provided them with a HEART DOPPLER ECHO EXAM as new evidence along with the Heart specialist statement that my heart was 100% normal and i have a tricuspid valve (which is normal} and not a bicuspid [bicuspid valve which would be congenital] as the NAVY and the VA claimed, this test proved along with the doctors statement a normal not congenitive heart. This is the VA reason for deneying my claim since 1984 [ pulmonary artery insuffiency secondary to the congenital bicuspid valve] Now the heart specialist have catherized me 14 times ,with 4 stents and a permantly implanted defibulator and a pacemaker. I also have had 1 large stroke and 9 TID'S QUESTION] I never heard of the VA contacting SOCIAL SECURITY wanting to know the date of someones disability [new to me ] I recieved a letter from the VA saying that they had contacted and recieved a letter from SOCIAL SECURITY stating the date FEBUARY 2008 total disability and the reasons for granting the claim [ which is massive heart attacks and some smaller heart attacks , and strokes ] Does this mean they have reopened the case And does anybody know if this looks good for me ? The claim has been at the raters for 2 months now I hope i don't get denied again Any input on this matter would be a help for me to try and understand the VA line of thinking
  14. I am currently rated at 30% PTSD the C&P examiner for PTSD diagnosed me with chronic sleeplesness at least 4 times in the PTSD report Cardiovascular was secondary but the sleeplesness wasn't in any axis can i apply for a VA exam for sleep apnea ,or do i need more service connected % or what do i need to do from here any info would be helpful
  15. Sorry! i meant to say 100% SSDI since 1998
  16. Ok! finally got a rating for ptsd today of 30% [low balled] Heart claim was not denied anyhow ,but it was deferred ? I guess i cant file unemployability ? what do i do now [ any sugestions? At least i am now service connected
  17. OK guys and girls going on twenty months and still waiting At least my PTSD claim is with a single rater for the 4th time since sept 2010 I would recommend that if you file more than one claim .personally i would not submit 2 or more claims as add ons i submitted my heart claim in 1984,and then in july 2010 i filed the second claim for PTSD and my local vso added it on to my heart claim. I personally think the second claim should have been filed separate Well! my heart claim has been rated since july 2011 but the VA will not tell me what i was rated at until they finish the PTSD claim The last time i gave the VA more info on my TSD claim i took the advise of CARLIE ,or BERTA i cannot rember which one it was I made 12 volumes directing the raters through the whole process with regs and VA laws and where certain files could be located and i think it really helped, because this is the first time it has been at the raters this long Since SEPT 12, 2011 I did this because i am convinced the rater never read my medical files or especially my QTC PTSD exam I personally think that this may be more the normal than we might think Thanks guys and GOD bless each one of you I will update yall as soon as i get the [big envelope]
  18. My target date according to my VSO is DEC 12, 2011 I have been let down before. I just don't know anymore.i am getting discouraged after another 17 months of waiting GOOD LUCK!!!
  19. Thanks for the clarification CARLIE my mind doesn't work right anymore
  20. ALOT OF US ON HADIT HAVE HAD THIS EXAM 2 cents worth ! Wording and what you tell the examiner is very important Such as whether or not the claimed stressor is related to the VETERANS fear of hostile military or terrorist activity;if possible the answer should be yes, this is one of the most important question you may get If answer no, could cost you a denial on your claim[if you can answer yes would be better for your claim Try to tell all, this is not the time to hold back [normally this is a one time shot to get it right take your time and think about the questions given Who is doing this {QTC} or the VA There is a sample of the PTSD exam on HADIT try to read it some today Hope the best to you
  21. LORD knows i am not complaining [bUT] I am still in the raters for a claim of PTSD SC DEC 2nd it will have been 17 months VSO told me there was nothing left ,and that they need no more info I am wondering if i will recieve an answer soon or are the VA is so backlogged they can't handle the claims I like what one CONGRESSMAN said [hire and train some of the out of work vets to process and rate claims] Jobs for vets stimulate the economy ect... Sorry ,just wanted to blow off some steam of the stress Sometimes i feel so alone ,except for my friends here at HADIT Great site ,thanks
  22. I just completed another stay in the hospital cardiac ward i had my 4th heart attack and FRIDAY and i am 100 miles from the closest hospital of any kind had 2 angiograms 1 brand new stent [got 4 now] and three other items in my heart tended to in one catherization also they cleared up my congestive heart failure again [lungs filling with fluid ,cough ect..] this was my 14TH cath since 1997 21 trips to the hospital My claim is still in at the raters for over two months this time [at least i haven't been denied yet] Now let me tell everyone i will never give up just because the DRs said i might live 6 more months i don't believe them i am only writing to let my brothers and sisters know i am still going to fight even after death for justice for me and maybe encouragement for others ,and here's how i am going to do this 1 Record a video of myself showing and speaking evidence of claim or claims 2. Everything including C&P exams , is in volumes like BERTA did making my wifes journrey in this VA mess a whole lot easier for her or my children 3. have all my NOD and APPEAL forms and new evidence noted in a separate file for my family 4. Names and address of VSO or and possible good VA attorneys 5. MAKE SURE YOUR FAMILY IS FAMILIAR WITH YOUR DOCUMENTS,FILES, AND ANY INFO WHICH MIGHT HELP THE CALIM OR CLAIMS Folks like it has been stated here before [ the VA wants us to die or just give up} take it from me never ever quit.it only emboldens them in that line of thinking is working for the VA I truly believe that you or i can win what the VA owes you and me if we only keep on fighting. I can only hope and pray, that someday our GOVERNMENT will someday make it more reasonable for our country's VETERANS to recieve the benifits they deserve. All Vets are entitled to fairness in the process and i do not believe that the recieve it. If we persist like a mosquito, i really think we will have paved the way for others just starting the process, and give them courage to know that others have been through and that the folks on HADIT and are there to help Thank you HADIT you all have been a great encouragement to me and my family, continue the fight and continue the battle, for the battle is not ours but it is GODS ,but we have to do our part also I believe victory is within reach for each and everyone of us So ,do not miss appointments meet all time deadlines and follow the VA directions and request to a tee if you can you won't be sorry in the end And most of all be courteous to the VA or they can make life difficult for you if they want to THANK YOU HADIT
