  1. Hi All, Sorry if this is posted in wrong forum. Please remove and replace in right forum. I have a vet who wants to purchase a home loan to put a home in SC on vacant land that he and his wife own. Questions: 1. Would the VA allow him to do that or does he have to buy a home already built on other land. 2. Has anyone on forum ever purchase a home and placed it on the property that they own? If so what all did they have to do to get their VA loan? 3. Did they have to use their land as collateral? Thank You in advance for your replies to these questions.
  2. Hi All, I have a 100% vet who recently had a bad fall and ended up in the emergency room in the town he lives in because VA hospital was to far to take him to. In examining him they found the blood clot in his knee. The doctor at the hospital is telling him that he can't go home and told him to call the VA and see if they can monitor him for the blood clot for his INR level, while he's at home. He's going to have to have blood thinners for the rest of his life. They also want him to have a physical therapist to come to his house and give him physical therapy for about 3 to 6 weeks. Right now he can't put in any pressure on that leg at all. This is the same knee that he hurt in the service that keeps giving out on him. Can he put in a claim for AA, through the VA and if so what can he expect to receive. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  3. Hello All, One of the vets I helped to become 100% wife is sick and needs long term care. He can't afford Assistant Living because they don't have that type of insurance as well as the $50,000.00 in their savings account. She gets Champ VA along with Medicare, etc. He would rather she get Assistant Living Care than to place her in a nursing home, because he feels that they can be in an assistant living place together. Does anyone know if the VA have an Assistant Living facility for both vet and his spouse? If so have they used such facilities and what is it called and how do this vet get info about such? .They live in Connecticut. Please post info so that I can get it to him. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  4. Has anyone started receiving their clothing allowance yet? If not what date are checks due to go out. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance for your replies.
  5. Hi All, Just got a VET his 100% TDIU but decision doesn't say P&T and he didn't receive any paper work for Champ VA for his wife and dependent, nor Educational form. He called VA 800 number and was told just because his rate is 90% and he is being paid at 100% doesn't mean he is P&T. My question is this true and if true why when he is being paid at 100%.. What do we do to get him P&T. Furthermore, does this mean that he won't get commissary priviledges. Thank You in Advance for your replies.
  6. My husband has a TDIU rating of 100% with an 80% rating. In 2007 he put in a claim for Pinch Nerve, Left Shoulder pain, and left hand carpel tunnel, which all 3 were denied. Over a year ago he was operated for left carpel tunnel, but was not given treatment. After a year of complaining, he was finally given treatment for all 3, but nothing has worked. They now tell him that neck pinch nerve has gotten worst, that he has a tear in his left shoulder which should be operated on; has 3 fingers that are numbed. The VA is saying that all 3 come from a fall that he had in 2008 which he is now service connected for spinal injury. This cannot be because of his 2007 claim, claiming all 3 conditions. We believe all 3 conditions were aggravated when he had that carpel tunnel operation and didn't get treatment over a year later.. My question is this at 100% TDI, should he (1) put in a new claim for Neck Pinch Nerve, Tear in Left Shoulder, and 3 Numb fingers on left hand for aggravation; (2) should it be an 1151 claim or just a regular claim; or (3) should he leave every thing as is (100% TDIU with 80% rating Thanks in advance for your replies.
  7. I have a vet who needs legal advice and can't afford an attorney for a foreclosure matter. Has anyone used VA legal affairs dept. in a foreclosure matter. If so please cite your experience and what they have done to get your matter resolved. The only facts I have is that he wants the VA attorney to represent him in his foreclosure issue. I do not have any other facts. Thanks in advance for your answer. Did not know what forum to post this in.
  8. Has anyone on this site filed for Impingement In their Neck? Did it affect your shoulder, arm and wrist? Did you have weakness in those areas? If so are you SC for Neck alone or are you SC for Neck, Shoulder, Arm and Wrist? Is there any type of treatment that a Vet can get for this? Thanks in advance for your answers.
  9. Vet is SC for Neck and Left and Right Knee, etc. He is 100% TDiU at 80%. He was operated on Neck in 2008 and SC for it in 2009. He learned the other day from VA that he has a pitch nerve in his SC Neck which affects his left shoulder, left arm, wrist, and left hand fingers 3 of them which are numb. He also has weakness where as he can't raise his left arm but so high before it falls down. He refuses to be operated on because of all the prior operations he has had. He is also confused because X-Ray didn't show impingement. The other day he had EMG done at VA and now VA is saying its in Neck but when they examine him they only examined the shoulder arm and wrist. He believes impingement is in shoulder and not in neck. He also believes they want to say Neck so he won't claim anything because he is already service connected for neck. My question is should he put in a claim for his shoulder, arm, wrist and fingers because of his neck? His wife is afraid that he is going to loose all function in them and that is why she thinks he needs to be SC for them. Please help so I can help this Vet. Thanks for your replies in advance.
  10. Is there anyway a person can turn off the pop up ads that are on this site? Sorry to have to post in this forum but did a search and results was 0. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  11. If a spouse wins DIC does she/he get Champ VA insurance even if Veteran wasn't a 100%.
  12. A Veteran who I helped to get 100% 3 years ago recently died. Can his spouse take over his claim even though %there are no additional claims. In other words can she get his 100% each month as well as DiC (what spouse get when their husband dies). Thanks in advance for your replies.
  13. Thanks for your reply. He not only have the swelling and numbness, but he can't bend his fingers on his left hand. He found out from hand specialist that he has permanent loss of grip strength, loss of lifting strength in wrist, tenderness around incision, loss of range motion in the hand and wrist. Hand specialist also told him that months of physical therapy is required after surgery to restore some hand and wrist strength. His surgery was done in August 2013. Some 3 weeks later they took out his stitches and that was the last he heard from VA about his left hand. Vync what your saying was never told to him. This is a 76 year old man. When they did the operation on him VA Doctor told him that they really had a hard time and that is why they had to dig so deep to get to his ligaments in his hand. Therefore, the VA Doctor should have known to require PT for him since they had such a hard time with operation. Once again thanks for your reply.
  14. Because they made it worst he is skeptical of VA. Matter of fact he is looking for a hand specialist on the outside to see what can be done.
  15. Hi All, A veteran I helped to get his 100% in August 2013 had a carpal tunnel operation on his left hand by VA. Several years before that he had his right hand done by a private doctor. Three weeks after 2013 operation he had stitches removed. VA never gave him any physical therapy for his left hand. Now his hand is puff from the operation, plus his fingers feel like pins and needles, and numbs up constantly till he has no feeling in them. Plus his wrist hurts and he has sharp pain going up his left arm to his shoulder. He say his hand is worst now then it was before he had operation. I feel the VA was negligent in operating on him without giving him the physical therapy that is needed for this type of operation. His carpal tunnel is non service connected. Can a 1151 claim be filed for this. He is constantly in pain from it. He walks around the house and outside with a glove on that left hand. Also, he can't tie his shoes or button his shirt, his wife has to do this for him. Has anyone had this happen to them if so please explain? Is there anything that he can do that will relieve him of the numbness and pain? Can a 1151 claim be filed? Thanks in advance for your replies.
