  1. Hello all,

got my paperwork back from hearing, fNotice of Decision - Fully Favorable . Waiting on back pay should be a little over three years.

    Thanks for the responses.

Jon if i am as laucky as your wife i should see backpay in a day or two. Not going to hold my breath.

  2. So do you have any suggestion to handle this independent evaluation group. i have so much DR. support from MD Anderson to 6 diff Dr's in Dallas. The last VA c&p test for my PN the doc notice my left leg 2 " smaller on the lower part.

the evalution group is a new thing they have come up with to speed up claims. There are a group of dr's that do this.

  3. posttraumatic arthiritis l knee, degentatrive disc lumbar spine, and depression. For my depression I see the va psycholigist and have been given 50% disability on it, 10 for knee, and 20% for back.

What are the conditions/medical/psychiatric reasons you are claiming? You do have diagnoses by qualified licensed physicians/psych dr's right? Those who have been treating you for your claimed disabling conditions...

  4. My husband, Rockman is @70%.

He has 10% for the shrapnel-lower back

    60% for AO IHD &

    30% for PTSD.

He will be thru working sometime in July. He was going to file for it on the first day following his last working day. Then he will have used up his leave hours. He is only working 2 days a week now. With his PTSD and his heart, he cannot work more than that.

He goes back to his heart doc in 2 weeks. If his heart has gotten worse, he was going to send in new evidence to see if they will up his percentage. Should he do that now and then follow it up with the 8940 form?

He is also going ask for his PTSD%. to be increased.

Is this the right way he should do this or wait and file all together?

Thanking you in advance for any replies,

    Mrs. Rockman

He should file for both together and do it now by the time it gets moving in the system he will not be working anymore. IMHO

  5. Update time. I received a call from soc sec today she told me she had received my paperwork from exam and would review it today and send to social security Dr. to sign. She also said my depression had already been signed off by their Dr. So I am hoping this is all good news I truly hate the waiting game though. I did not have a exam with ssdi psych so I guess my VA records were enough for them to sign off on it.

  6. One reason vets don't apply for IU is because they use VSO's who never tell them to file. On the other hand, the VA and VSO will tell a vet his % is not high enough even if he is on SSD for the SC condition. I never heard of TDIU until I got to Hadit.

I guess I am one of the very lucky ones my county vso told me to file as soon as possible. he also told me that the 70% thing is bs he has seen people awarded tdiu at below 50%. he said the 70% is the standard but it is not written in stone. "If you can not work, you can not work and should apply for tdiu".

  7. I was originally SC for 80%. I put in a claim for TDIU at that time and was denied. The one year time period has passed. I put a claim in for depression and got 50% which pushed me up to 90%. I was awarded SSD baised off of my SC disablities. they dated it back from my discharge the same time I got my 80% rating. Will it be to late to file for this? Will this help me with the TDIU chances? I filled out the TDIU paperwork and sent it in with the SSD award letter. I am pretty sure I asked this before but just wanted to see if anyone else had the same expirience.

    IVDS-40%

    Bladder-40%

    Tinnitus-10%

    Gerd-10%

    Cubital Tunnel-10%

    Sciatica-10%

    Major depression-50%

My county service rep told me the other day that a new law was passed and that the two agencies have to take the other into account. Now if that is true or not I am not sure but he has not lied to me before. I just applied for ssdi so I guess I will find out.

OK went from notification phase to closed.I called 1-800 and asked my rating she said 60% so it looks like I got 50% for depression and my 20% for lower back and 10% left knee. I guess they denied the iu but it is getting closer. I need to file a few more claims I have and see where I go from there.

I will change my profile once I get the paperwork. Just do not trust anything until I see it in writing

Five years later and I got a letter from DAV saying I went from 70% to 100% P&T

  10. Okay had c&p looks good to me for secondary to chronic pain.

The condition/disability Adjustment disorder with depressed mood, chronic

is as least likely as not (50/50 probability) caused by or a result of

service connected degenerative changes of lumbar spine and/or posttraumatic arthiritis, left knee

    rationale

His service connected medical conditions are considered primary.

From the rest of the report it looks like 30% Guess its wait and see time.

  11. Hello, I'm going to have a C&P exam for my left knee as a secondary claim for Scars/Arthritis. Since I was turned down for an increase due to surgery.. My medical records due state that I have arthritis and scars due to the past two surgerys on my knee. My question is has anyone received a service connected claim for these two conditions? Also what kind of exam does this involve? Thanks for any input. Cheers

I have for the arthritis on knee. The exam is mainly to see if you have lost any range of motion in your knee. If not the most you will probably get is 10% No Idea on scars though.
