  1. I'm trying to catch up as I've been out sick for a long time, since 2015. My last inquiry I think, was about agent orange exposure... RE: my husbands army military duty in the late 1960's ...he had jungle war training in panama ft Sherman . His whole family is healthy. NO diseases such as he has....diabetes..hypertension...Conegstive heart failure..etc..he was as healthy as could be...then at age 60 all the illness started. ..so..where are we as far as agent orange goes today..is panama acknowledged as a Agent orange place by the VA? Please let me know. Thank you. I hope I'm in the right section for this inquiry
  2. Berta and Jumpmaster, you both are wonderful ito offer your information, directing us which way to go with this. By the grace of God I pray something will pan out. Hubby for sure has ischemic heart disease and adult onset type 2 diabetes. Keep us in your prayers as we try to pursue all aspects of A O in Panama. Huge thank you to you both!! :)
  3. Where is the panama ao section? I see this whole vetapp98 appeal that was won...its posted here..the whole case... http://www.va.gov/vetapp98/files1/9800877.txt My husband was in jungle warfare training 1968-1969 fort gulick panama and years later, came down with tons of things related to ao..that NOBODY in his family nor relatives have....they r all healthy, non military family relatives......yet hubby was army, and has many ao Diseases...only one in his family Where is the panama ao section? Please help. Thanks much
  4. Wondering if I'm too critical but I have a question. Hubbys Claim contention reads: LEFT ARM WITH ULNAR NERVE PALSY. (He also has loss of feeling in 2 fingers on the left side. ) So, are both conditions ( loss of feeling in fingers AND hand deformation) included in the way it was written? OR should it read as follows: LEFT ULNAR NEUROPATHY AND PALSY. I was reading a settled case from VBA, that was the way they phrased it. ( "AND" seems to be the important word here). OR do both statements mean the same thing? Wondering... Am I being too critical? Help, please, thank you.
  5. Thank you Berta, am printing out your above response as I type! Re: 1151 claim, worse case scenario is, if it comes back denied, then I have 2 months to file appeal, correct? No IMO reports were included with this claim. However, will definitely have IMO help on claim thru the appeal process. Question 1. At appeal, can we submit IMOs, that were not part of initial claim? Question 2. If claim is then approved at appeal level, what is retro date? Original date of claim or beginning date of appeal process? At appeal, r u even allowed to have new IMO evident was never part of original claim. Thanks for your help.
  6. Hi Berta, CREDIT SCORE QUESTION 4 U, I went to one of the links u posted above...specifically to FIDUCIARY APPOINTMENT, to see a mention that the field agent may find that my credit is not good enough to be my husbands fiduciary. Of course our credit is not great. Hubby is disabled, almost four years, with many claims still being processed, A &A, 1151, TDIU. Claims started in 2010. The only one I can see on ebennys is he got increase on SC from 20% , now up to 40%. My question to you is what exactly are they looking for credit wise? My score ain't high, but we have cleared up ALL our collections as of 18 months ago, and apparently it takes 7 years for bad info to fall off credit report? NEXT CLOSEST RELATIVE QUESTION, Also, can our adult daughter be fiduciary? She has good credit but lives 30 mins away. Anybody and everybody can vouch for her as excellent back up relative to be hubbys fiduciary if my credit won' pass. CONFUSED. Also, why do we even have to do this fiduciary stuff? He only got 40% rating. No direct cash, just different tax status, up from 20%. No retro cash...just tax info on paper, right? Thank you Berta
  7. I'm still missing something, please help. How is FICA different from 1151 claim? What's the difference? If you file both can you win both? Or u only win one or the other? What's the fine line to figure out what claim to file? Very confused here. Please help. Thank you so much.
  8. Hi again Berta, I'm sure this is someplace on the site but I can't find it...a "fact sheet" of all the issues I have to prove for hubby's 1151 claim to be approved. Seems I found a guide, outline someplace on here before? Excellent site so full of info..I get lost at time! :) Thank you Berta. You posts are always so helpful, loaded with so much insight. :)
  9. At the tail end of submitting statement in support of claim for hubby's 1151. How is CUE different from 1151? Just wondering, thanks
  10. Thank you Berta, You are so thorough when you respond. I have learned so much from you all over this website. IMO is excellent idea. Hubby has an A fib related stroke. He also was diabetic for over 10 years on pills for that, hi blood pressure, and cholesterol pills also, maybe 30 lbs overweight at the time. Our education was so focused on eye care and foot care and better nutrition for diabetics. NOW.. after the fact, I've researched to find heart issues are big thing too, for diabetics. We were unaware, but the VA should not have been. I will also contact the folks from American Legion as I hear they offer free legal assistance to take on appeal. Have you heard of that? I cannot image I could ever do this alone. You are right, ALOT of researching! I will read your post over n over to make sure I cover all the bases. It is wonderful to read your experience with the VA. It educates and gives me hope. I can feel your compassion in your posts. I have been to other websites ..it's just not the same. Thank you again Berta for the way your kindness in helping others.......priceless! :)
  11. Berta your post here of your cue is truly wonderful to read. Your efforts have paid off and the story keeps me inspired. We are in first stages of what I think is simple cue 1151 paperwork. In 2006 va dropped the ball in following hubby's minor heart condition. We had no idea of any of this till hubby had stroke out of the blue...I did my research as u have tought us Berta. It is not easy while caring for hubby. I have it in writing from copied med records from the va heart dr.,....the plan of care was to follow hubby with cardiologist...cardiologist wrote this to primary care doctor In his own notes to him. Even when hubby went to normal check up one week before stroke in 2009, still...never reminding or questioning hubby about heart care plan. We had no idea..till recently I seen it as i began reasearching his va med records, as we were stunned at hubby stroke etc.,(stroke made him 100% disabled). He has been 20% scd from arm laceration since 1999. He is 74 yeras old but had 2 full time jobs at time of stroke. Also we filed a individual unemployabilty claim, optimistic that the 1151 claim will succeed. Question 1: what will be awarded to hubby if 1151 claim succeeds? I am unclear specifically on what retroactive benefits he will get. Question2: we also have A &A claim pending. So with all 3 claims pending...a &a, 1151, and IU, will they each get their just reward If they succeed? OR... If u get one award, you canot get the other? I am unsure. Any insight you can share will be greatly appreciated. God bless you Berta. You are truly an inspiration to those of us in need of positive postings. You make our say a little it brighter. Thank you.
