  1. I got a call this evening from a severely disabled veteran that followed the advice and information on Hadit to stop the VA's proposed fiduciary appointment. The VA held his retro, and proposed a fiduciary. He was able to obtain and use a written statement from his treating doctor to stop the fiduciary process. Now he is just waiting for the release of the retro. I had to tell him that the VA follows it's own schedule for doing such things, and that there is not a real defined date to expect the payment. It might be quite short, or several weeks if things go the way they usually do.
  2. The House Committee for Veterans' Affairs, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation has a scheduled hearing TODAY (Feb 9, 2012) at 10:00am EST on: "Reforming VA's Flawed Fiduciary System | You may listen/watch the hearing by following the link below: http://veterans.house.gov/hearing/reforming-va’s-flawed-fiduciary-system Click on the "TV icon" in the upper right-hand of the menu bar to live stream the hearing. Attorney Katrina Eagle and Attorney Doug Rosinski will be presenting testimony at this hearing. This may be of interest to those who are dealing with this fiduciary nightmare (as we are).
