  1. After a long battle, my Marine Vietnam Vet brother has been awarded 100% service connection for schizophrenia. The VA has denied this claim since originally filed in 1982. Even though he had schizophrenic episodes and subsequent hospitalization - it was well past his discharge date of 1971 -- thus no service connection in the eyes of the VA. (Discharged because he tripped over a grenade booby trap and was WIA, I might add). Now 48 years later, the VA has approved the claim. It has been denied at least twice, and I filed a Notice of Disagreement, and was fortunate to include an IMO from
  2. ZERO Rating Decision received! "The previous denial of service connection for PTSD is confirmed and continued. The evidence does not show a current diagnosed disability". "The previous denial of service connection for schizophrenia, residual type, competent is confirmed and continued. The evidence does not show an event, disease or injury in service. Your service treatment records do not contain complaints, treatment, or diagnosis for this condition. The evidence does not support a change in our prior decision. Therefore we are confirming the previous denial of this claim.
  3. My Vietnam Vet brother had his C&P Exams last week. The physical lasted 30 minutes. The Psychiatric exam lasted 20 minutes! How can they determine PTSD, schizophrenia, and competency within 20 minutes ? They wouldn't allow me to be present - even though he wanted me there -- said it was their "policy". So the eBenefits claim status has changed to "Preparation for Decision". Does anyone know if the VA shares the VA medical reports (conducted by QTC) from the C&P Exams?
  4. I'm new here and am re-posting under this topic as it may be a more appropriate forum. First off, let me say this site has been extremely helpful to me in developing my brother's VA claim. He's a former Marine - served in Vietnam 1969-70 and was WIA by tripping a grenade booby trap - Purple Heart. He was unemployed for approximately 4 years of the first 8 years he was back. Then in the 8th year, he attempted suicide, taken away in a straight jacket, hospitalized and diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Paranoid Type. In the 5 years that followed, he underwent long-term mental health thera

  6. Hello to those reading this, I am currently an Active service member (E-5) in the USAF with 10 years of service. I am in need of advice and guidance on my situation. Here is a background history of events that have led me to the beginning stages of an MEB. On 29 Oct 15, I was kicked in the back of the head during a sporting event. I had been seen by my medical provider for what was documented as post concussive syndrome (concussion). I was put on quarters for the week. During this week I had symptoms of dizziness, nausea, light sensitivity and memory issues. Two months go by and I go thro
