  1. If you get rated for 100% before you win a BVA grant, will the VA still pay you the back pay even if your rating does not change.
  2. I'm 100% disabled (P&T). Of my disabilities, I'm 10% for Allergic Rhinitis and 10% for Maxillary Sinunitis. Last year I developed a sinus infection that morph'd into pneumonia. I was given an antibiotic for the sinus infection and pneumonia, but had a bad reaction to it. It killed all the good bacteria in my gut, caused an overgrowth of bad bacteria, and also put my heart into AFib. I'm on meds to keep my heart in normal rhythm as well as for preventing blood clots (which can happen in AFib as the blood is not circuating properly). It took almost 10 months to get my gut back to normal, and although my heart is in rhythm for the most part, I do have periodic episodes where it goes into AFib. My question is: With my history of sinus infections (I usually get 1-2 per year, should I file for my heart condition as secondary to my sinuses, being that the sinus condition that caused me to be prescribed the antibiotic that eventually caused the chain of events that lead to the AFib? I know I am 100%, but I am thinking for my wife and DIC if I pass away from a heart issue that was brough along by my AFib? Thanks for the help.
  3. The regulation states if you look it up smc o plus smc r2 is what’s added together at this compensation witch is smc t ... I get smc t is 9000 on pay chart give or take a few dollars for a single veteran ...I just want to know how those 2 smc o and r2 equal 9000 ....is that va math or am I misreading ...it sounds like it would be more
  4. you can get amazon discount under their "government assistance" program. i submitted my benefit summary under "SSI" letter and they accpeted it. $5.99 month! hope not a fluke. comment if this works for you as well https://www.amazon.com/58f8026f-0658-47d0-9752-f6fa2c69b2e2/qualify
  5. I have been granted 100% P&T and was rated this after I joined the Reserves. I am happy with my rating and do NOT want to lose it at all cost. The Reserves however gives my family great Tricare health insurance. I want to keep Tricare by being in the Reserves, BUT absolutely do not want to lose my 100% P&T by just risking it being in the Reserves. The Reserves does PHA's through LHI and I really don't want to risk anything at all. I am truly 100% P&T by having many many separate conditions but am so paranoid and untrusty of the VA because I know they will take it away at any chance they get. Basically I want to stay in Reserves for TRICARE for my family but am very paranoid VA will find a window of opportunity through my Reserve service/PHA and take away everything. 2 Other questions: 1. Can VA reduce 100% P&T rating if I don't even see a VA doctor and RARELY see my own primary care doctor? 2. Does the VA have automatic access to things like: -Tax returns? -Medical records from AFTER military service, when I was seen by private doctors using TRICARE?
  6. After they called yesterday to discuss the HLR I filed in July, I checked E-Benefits this afternoon...and it shows I got my rating increase which pushed me to 100% P&T!!! I feel like I should throw a party or something. LOL!!! Now, I'm trying to work through and understand all of the Education Benefits since I have two college-age kiddos (one in and one going in 2021). This is a MAJOR blessing!! It's the one benefit I've really being fighting hard to achieve with time being of the essence. I'm so thankful for this site and all of those on here who have taken the time to listen and post things that help all of us figure out this puzzle. I cannot say Thank You enough!
  7. If I were to get a job where I was considered a Virtual Employee(with a big company) and Worked from my home. Is that considered a "sheltered environment"? Meaning would I get in trouble for working from home and make more than the poverty threshold? Thank you Scott
  8. I filed a claim online on October 7th and the next day when I checked ebenefits, it said the claim was closed and a decision was made. Has anyone ever experienced this? They said i was receive a letter soon.
  9. Hello All, I have a question that i have asked several times and never really get a straight answer... (maybe there isn't one) I was rated 80% disabled and 70% of that is for PTSD/MST w/ MDD, Anxiety, Opioid use disorder, Alcohol use disorder and Stimulant use disorder, 30% right ankle and 10% Tinnitus and was later granted Individual Unemployability by the VA. I must give credit where credit is due and say that VA was very good with my claims and I am grateful that I was fortunate enough to get a rater that gave a crap about disabled veterans. I am now curious if anyone has any knowledge concerning if or when my IU could possibly become Total and Permanent. I'm sure its different for many people but i have been told some strange things concerning this. I did hear some valid statements like because i am 43 y/o they won't even consider making it permanent until i'm 55. I hear that PTSD for mental disorders will never become permanent because you may someday be cured... I could go on and on of things i have come across but i'm sure there is someone looking at these forums that will possibly have some first hand knowledge. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Respectfully, Chris P
