Hello all, I have a question...I was medically separated after 14 years of service in 2010 at 20% DOD and 60% VA. After 2 years of fighting I was bumped up to 90% and then after another couple of years I finally got to 100%. My question to you guys is if I were to go for my the extra 10% on the DOD so I can apply for medical retirement would it effect my VA compensation? could I get both a retirement check from the Navy and the VA every month? would I have to pay back any money? I am looking for information about if it is possible to apply for medical retirement after you've exited the Army. I have my VA rating and I need to know where to find the forms to continue from here into medical retirement (if it is possible that is). I saw on another forum that it was possible to obtain both VA and MR at the same time depending on your percentage, but no where that I have found thus far, has stated that you may CAN / NOT apply for medical retirement post Army separation. I was not medically discharged and I have very few resources to reach out to that may have the correct
