VA Letter
RobWilliams1981 posted a question in VA Disability Compensation Benefits Claims Research Forum
I just received a letter today dated 11/7 It states that the Claim with the Board that was granted back in 10/2018. It states an accredited attorney or agent properly filed a valid direct-pay fee agreement per the provisions, it goes on to say that the amount of Past-due benefits for so much has been computed from the effective date of the award through the date of the decisions, is so much. That of that amount so much is withheld for fees in the amount of said dollars, which is 20% of past due benefits. Since it is stating that they are paying my lawyer and what they or -

Please, welcome new VET2VET podcast episode: https://youtu.be/9paX1-FyCaI Today we’re talking about SERVICE CONNECTION. When we talk about service-connecting a medical condition, disease, injury or illness to military service, we are talking about proving the relationship between the two. 1) Direct Service Connection 2) Service Connection by Aggravation 3) Presumptive Service Connection 4) Secondary Service Connection 5) Service Connection due to Injury Caused by Treatment in the VA Healthcare System 6) Special Service Connection Rules for Post-Traumati- 2 replies

tdiu #9 100% P & T
VETOVET posted a question in VA Disability Compensation Benefits Claims Research Forum
Please, welcome new VET2VET podcast episode: https://youtu.be/sTH3p-WwXn0 The way VA defines The word "permanent" slightly differently. For that matter, the word total doesn't mean total when discussing a disability. These are just terms to VA. There really isn't a protected rating. Any rating can be modified by VA at any time, depending on the circumstances. How do you know if your benefit is P & T? What is IU? What is substantially gainful employment? Are there any other eligibility requirements? How is the way VA decides total disability different from other agen-

This has probably been posted before, but I was thinking about starting a thread on businesses that are pro-military and veteran friendly. I have run into a couple of them so far, and will try to post when I find others. Ok, here we go: 10% - Lowe's (hardware, lumber, plants, outdoors, appliances, etc.) Awesome service, and very friendly. They provide a 10% military or veteran discount when presented a VA ID card. The location I was at had one of their attendants run out and load my truck for me, and then he thanked me for my service. (I've tried Lowe's about 3 times so far, and they al

Hello. This is my first post on hadit. I joined this forum because it seemed like a great place to connect with United States veterans and their loved ones. By the end of this year, there will be less than a million living World War II veterans. It’s more important than ever to share the stories of service from those who fought bravely for our country. I’m representing Glimpses Into History, a project of the Clovis Veterans Memorial District, in finding veterans willing to share a video testimonial of their experience as a soldier. The CVMD has created a way for veterans to record thei

My fellow Veterans, I wanted to take a moment and reflect on my troubles as a U.S. Marine Veteran post my discharge this last November… I was mislead into believing that, just because I am a Veteran, there were tons of Veteran Jobs just “waiting for me” when I was released from active duty. Just a little bit about me. I was honorably discharged last November 2011 with 8 years of active military service under my belt. I specialized in Law Enforcement as a Military Policeman with combat and non-combat experience and on top of that, military intelligence, operating as a language specialist.

I'm currently applying for a position within a Police Department... what military records will an agency/employer be able to receive? My question is, will they be able to get full copies of my service record, medical records, etc... or just my DD Form 214 and whatever I provide to them. I didn't know if there is a "by law" clause for Veterans on what potential employers can get from the military. Thanks
