  1. Hello All! My name is Cris, and I served 4 years active duty in the USCG as a BM3. I am here on the recommendation of a co-worker who has had a lot of success in his claim with the VA and he suggested I do the same, stating you need an airtight case. I am a 30 year old male who suffers from low back pain, which started towards my last 2 years in the CG. I was on small boats my entire career, was a Boarding Officer, Coxswain and Heavy Weather boat crewman. Daily, getting out of bed is rough, taking some time "to get the kinks out." I believe a lot of this has been caused by bouncing a
  2. In 30 days, from enrollment, I have had my initial appointment, a disappointment, then after some research and a few phone calls, I think I found the answer. See a social worker before your appointment if possible, or at a minimum ask to see the social worker ASAP. Ask a lot of questions, get a lot of answers. Have a list of what you want FROM the doctor, don't wait for him to offer anything, you will run out of time. When my questions were interpreted as a complaint, I got to talk to a social worker and I was set up for the 9 referrals that I wanted to start off with. Two of

  5. Hello everybody! First off, I'd like to thank you all for your experiences and sharing them. I have read through alot of your posts and used them to help other vets who I talk to. My name is Mario and I have a SC of 60% right now from my 4 years (not a bunch, but enough for this guy to out rank his father: SGT) in the Marine Corps. Combat vet of OEF/OIF from Dec 02-Aug 03 with 3rd Bn 4th Mar. My breakdown is as follows: PTSD: 50% Tinnitus: 10% Hypertension: 0% Hearing Loss ®: Not Service Connected Hearing Loss (L): 0% Post Concussion Headaches ("also claimed as TBI"): 10% Residua

  7. Greetings from OKC metro. Hot 'n humid here this 6th day of June. 9 years back separated from USN with 27 years 6 months and 17 days service. Before walking down the after brow the last official time, I copied my entire medical record X 3. (including labs and eko graphs). While on terminal leave I dropped one copy off at the Midwest City, OK chapter of the DAV. Fellow I met there welcomed me (of course I paid the $300.00 lifetime membership fee) and he agreed to go over my record. 2 weeks later he invited me over to review his findings and upon my acceptance the DAV became my representative
