Voc. Rehab & Educ Assistance

I am currently employed as a federal law enforcement officer, retiring in a couple of months. When you reach age 57 you are mandated by law to retire. With the SC conditions (I'm 70%), I have, I will not be able to acquire employment in the exact discipline I'm in. I currently earn six figures but upon retirement but my pension will be $50K . I have a BS in Voc. Educ, and I would like to work as a school counselor or teach. I am new to this process, so can anyone share what's the best way to approach in terms of seeking approval with Voc Rehab & Employment so I can get a Master's Degree? -

I retired Dec 2003, I think we have 15 or 17 years to use the post 911 educational benefits. How do I get an extension for this, is there a standard time period they will extend them from? I have seen a neurophysi in the past but do you need some kind of medical documentation. I do not think I will be able to use them and would like to pass them on to our young daughter. Thanks, Y#5
