I called my RO today and asked about my claim(s). I was told thye were at the Active Ratings Board. Can anyone tell me what happens after that? I applied for the disabilities after I was released back to retirement in Jun 06 while on terminal leave. It is coming up on a year now. I mean good grief these medical problems happenend and were diagnosed while I was on active duty.

Jerry,

Your claim will be decided at the "rating Board." After the decision is made, you're claim goes to the "Post Determination Team" where the decision is entered into the system and so forth. This is where it obtain any additional signatures and sometimes dependants are added to the award. Once this is finished the veteran is mailed the decision.

    ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of  ‘I have a question."

    This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

    Your first posts on the board may be delayed before they appear as they are reviewed. The review requirement will usually be removed by the 6th post. However, we reserve the right to keep anyone on moderator preview.
