I was recently given a 0% rating for arteriosclerotic heart disease secondary to DMII. If I die from arteriosclerotic heart disease would my wife then have a direct service connection claim for DIC? Right now I have no symptoms but the diseases is present. I found this out via a CT scan that was examining a lump on my leg. Sometimes pulling on a string can lead to major consequences. I had read before that DMII and areteriosclerotic heart disease were very closely related almost to the point of being presumptive.

The percentage of disability assigned to a service-connected condition has no bearing on whether or not DIC would be warranted. All that it takes is for the disability to be determined to be related to service.
