Today Is The Day For My C&p

Question

I am actually reposting something that got lost in the shuffle. I had a questions about my exam today and I still don't have an answer and I figure I am leaving shortly and hopefully will get some input.

Pete had mentioned to me to have them rate it with what they have and this was my response.

If I ask them to rate is with what they have, what will become of the other secondary conditions I had submitted a few months ago and supposedly haven't gotten around to doing anything with it yet. I added the tmj, hypothyroidism, and tinnitus but I had already gotten the notice for the TDIU C&P before that. I haven't even gotten the letter for duty to assist for the tmj, hypo and tinnitus yet.

And yes, thats the picture I am taking with me, my brother just emailed it to me and he named it zipper head (he loves to call me that still today).

OH, another question, I don't have it listed with the VA anywhere, but the Chiari (brain herniation) created a brainstem hump (c1-c2), that is where the permanent damage to my left side came in. Is there anything I can submit for the brainstem hump, because it is still there and will never go away. oh yea, maybe even bone loss, due to the fact I had a lamenectomy (removal of c1 and partial c-2). If there is something I can submit, I will especially if they deny me IU.

Thanks everyone for the input.

PS. How long does the exam usually take?

I am so nervous my stomach is turning bad.

I hope you did your research on this site. I hope you read my post on C&P Questionaires and followed my advice. I wish you luck.

I hope he did too Jim-

The C & P exam is not the place to raise additional disability issues-

but it pays to bring any medical evidence that could support a good C & P statement for the disability the exam is for-and to make sure the nexus factor is clear to the doctor.

I had 5 C&P's the shortest was 15 minutes the other three about 45 minutes.

I think that you should bring up all that you have. No reason to fret about the C&P it is really your opportunity to get your claim done.

Good Luck

I would say that whatever you say in a C&P exam becomes part of your record. If you tell them you are not able to work then that should become an inferred claim for IU. I think the vet should take every opportunity to document every single disability they have.

well, I made it through today. The exam wasn't that long 20-30 min, maybe a little more. I tried to tell the doctor everything, but he was talking quite a bit too. He did write down a lot of things I told him, so that made me feel better, so hopefully it will all be in my favor. Now its the waiting game again. Hopefully It will only be a few weeks before I find out, any input on a time frame?

Well i'm just glad its over for now.

tdak,

I waited about 5 days and called the VAMC and picked up a copy of the C&P. This will give you a better understanding of what to expect.

Glad that all went well for you.

Always,

Josephine
