I never met one yet who had any medical expertise-

A VSO, NSO, vet rep etc- they are basically all employed to help a vet prosecute their VA benefits claims.

VSO is usually what they call the reps -paid by the VA- who work out of the VAMCs.

They should be "claims Specialists" but everyone here is a claims specialist-in my opinion-

veteran the BEST vet rep VSO or NSO you will ever get-is YOU.

You have one claim or maybe a feww issues- these paid reps have hundreds-

even the best of them- and there are some great ones- are so overwhelming that it is hard sometimes for them to fully cover all that the vet needs- as far as claims advise goes.

I feel most rep orgs spend too much time BSing in interviews with vets prior to filing claims.

We dont have the time here to BS alot-(we do have the social chat however) because we focus on two main questions:

What is your documented disability and

how can this disability be connected to your service?

Of course there is more to it then that- many have presumptive conditions, or are asking for higher ratings on an established SC rating---

EVIDENCE is everything in the VA claims process-

my reps dont have the internet- just email-that doesnt always work- no immediate ability to click on the regs or BVA cases or M21-1 -etc and

no list of vet orgs links for buddy statements or more info-

I gave them a lot of the hadit cards- and they said they do give them to vets-

you are the best you will get and in my opinion- the best advise you can get is most likely to be found here at hadit.

I feel however that the VA looks unfavorably on any claim where the vet has no rep-

because it might suggest to VA that the vet does not have the confidence in the claim that a vet rep would want-

I do suggest getting a rep- if you dont like them- there are plenty more around.

Medical issues might take some good research on your part and the net has plenty on medical issues too.

if you tell us a little more we can help more regarding your claim.
