JayBrown1
I receive this IRIS today "when the decision is completed, an award letter and a copy of the rating decision will be mailed to you." Has anyone ever got a message like this? Can anyone tell me what this mean?
HadIt.com Elder Chuck75 Posted June 6, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 6, 2007 Almost the same language used in a VA letter to convice you that they might be doing something on your claim. Waste of taxpayers money if you ask me. The last time I used IRIS to ask a very specific question that required a specific answer, I got a general off the shelf answer that did not begin to respond to the question or provide a specific answer. I receive this IRIS today "when the decision is completed, an award letter and a copy of the rating decision will be mailed to you." Has anyone ever got a message like this? Can anyone tell me what this mean?
HadIt.com Elder Chuck75 Posted June 6, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 6, 2007 In short, it means that your claim is in processing (somewhere) A complete decision has not been made. When (and if it is made) you will receive a letter with further details concerning the disposition of the claim. I receive this IRIS today "when the decision is completed, an award letter and a copy of the rating decision will be mailed to you." Has anyone ever got a message like this? Ricky
Chuck is right. It is a canned response and provides no specific information at all. We all know that when a decision is made a copy of the rating decision will be mailed. It is a complete wast of valuable VA assets and taxpayers money. I have not received one of the automatic letters in over a year. The ones they send out every 60 days with the same information. I sent them a letter and told them if they did not quit wasting taxpayers money I was going to expose them via the press.
tdak
Jay, It is just an automatic response from the VA. They are going to do exactally what they say, mail you the rating decision when it is done. It is hard for the VA to give you an exact answer as to when your claim will be done, due to the amount of claims pending and backlogged etc. Hang in there. I receive this IRIS today "when the decision is completed, an award letter and a copy of the rating decision will be mailed to you." Has anyone ever got a message like this? Can anyone tell me what this mean?
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted June 7, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 7, 2007 The backlog, the St Louis Fire, short staffing yada yada yada. Some claims move fairly quickly but most don't. Anyone who has a claim over 1 and 1/2 year old should give serious consideration to a Writ of Mandamus. It will actually get results in less than 60 days. Good Luck
