Ricky and All Hadt Members:

Unfortunately a couple of Members would post a zinger and than back in a short while later after someone bit on it and flames war started. The edit was not being used to correct a post it was being used to start a fight and than leave no tracks to how it started.

I am pretty sure that the edit will be turned on but here were the alternatives. Hadit could have been turned off for a cooling down period.

Here is the deal in a nutshell. We have some cretins who sign up and save Screen Names and than attack Members. Although the security has improved and with Moderators we have been able to stop a good portion of it.

Think of it as an insurgency on Hadit. It would not surprise me to find someone with a connection to the VA behind all this but that may be my paranoia talking.

Many or maybe some Members have problems with anxiety and anger and don't need to come to Hadit and leave angry and that is the bottom line. We are not babies but we are dealing with some very sick minds who for the most part get their jollies causing trouble.

Most of the Members who come to Hadit have the good fortune to miss a lot of the crap that goes on behind the scenes.

You would not believe how much time and energy that TBird puts out trying to make Hadit a safe place that supports Veterans with their claims giving the ammo to win a claim.

So I hope that all here can understand that sometimes Hadit has to take steps that no one likes and if people would behave would not be needed. I know that TBird is always open to suggestions and if you have one please feel free to send to any Moderator or TBird.

Berta and I started out on Prodigy Veterans Bulletin Board where sometimes you would have to wait four or five days to get a response to a question.

Sorry for the rant it was so others could see why some things happen.

By the way when this Board was first opened it was months before there was a Edit Function.

Pete - thanks for the explaining. How ever ole buddy you opened the door when stated that the recommendation window was open hahahahahahaha. Based upon what you just posted my recommendation is as follows: All involved in Hadit know the mid to older guys so what if you had to earn your edit button? Make the cutoff at let us say 300 posts. That way no new posters would be able to carry on in the manner you described. Then if it appears that one of the oldies is carrying on in such a bad manner it could be handled off site through email. If the poster says hey you know me and I did not do that then his user name could be observed for a bit looking for the demon responsible.

Ahhhh don't make no difference anyway. If you guys can read em, I can keep typing em the way they are hahahahaha.

I thank Tbird and each of you for your dedication to this community and the hard work you put into making Hadit available.

I feel better that you explained-Pete- I edited my posts a lot because sometimes I would think I didnt reply clearly enough.

I had so many problems with emails here that I closed my email-because in email things can happen that are not appropriate-

that has only happened a few times but a few times is more than enough for me not to deal in any emails here anymore-

besides this is a public forum- a public reply to a claims question can help many others who read as guests.

I am on a fairly new BWN site also- I joined recently because this issue is so important to me. The site required our email addy to show up in the posts.Since BWN is an isolated claims issue and the site is trying to attract vets with this specific AO BWN disability issue I saw no problem with having my email there and knew some of the members of the site.(and have had email contact with them for quite some time anyhow) I made one public post and then found the next day that someone had joined and corrupted the site with porn already. I have gotten some porn emails that obviously came from the same person.

I quess someone must really be a sociopath to take the time and trouble to find these veterans sites and then harm veterans this way.

One site (Korean War Project) was down for almost a year because of stuff like this.

Pete I have no doubt that VA might come here from time to time-

After all the IG report of a few years ago searched all the vets forums in the net to see if anyone was giving advise as to how to prepare a fradulent claim- particularily PTSD claims.

The IG found however that this was really not the case at all-

I am sure this has happened and one post here lately seemed to suggest a vet should lie- now that member is gone.

If the VA does come aboard here- they could only be able to find good claims advise -in my opinion- and are bound to sure learn something.

Years ago when we had an awful problem I contacted someone at a VA as the poster was posted from a VA computer-

the VA person , in their Security division asked for the site and popped it up and was thrilled with it-he was disabled vet himself-

Tbird should be very proud of this public forum because I think anyone at the VA would appreciate it-

good claims advise makes the VA's job easier in the long run.

And lets face it- if those well paid vet reps all knew what they were doing-

veterans would not need public forums to fight the continuous paper war of the words with the VA.

Pete, as usual you are dead on, and Berta you make a very good point. I'd like to emphasize Berta's point.

No person on Hadit can post that anyone should lie, or deceive the VA. Period. It's up to Tbird to decide what happens but it is a BAD thing to do...

There are instances where people ask "should I take my meds, should I dress nicely.. etc." . These people are NOT saying I am going to lie to the VA. I generally tell people with these type of questions to do what they think is right... but not to minimize their injuries. Veterans as a group tend to minimize their problems to doctors. I have seen it again and again. I do not ask ANYONE to lie, but I insist they tell the WHOLE truth. If they do that, then their case is best served. No need to scream at a doctor etc., as I have seen advised (sigh).. just tell the whole truth and take the time to make sure the doctor understands what you are saying. Take your spouse or significant other with you. They will often tell the doctor better and more complete information than the veteran.
