Recalled Hernia Patch

I believe my father may have been given a recalled hernia patch during a procedure at the V.A.. How can I find out ? He has been having severe problems ever since and his doctor seems to be dismissing him.

I have a vet who developed a very severe infection from a messed up hernia patch-

He has a Sec 1151 claim pending-

I suggest your father get a copy of his VA medical records and try to determine what type of patches were recalled and what type the VA used-

then again- whether the patch was defective or not- it appears that he is developing additional problems that should be addressed by the doctor.Maybe you should talk to the patient's advocate at the VAMC if the doctor is not responsive to him.
