SSD is not income based you probably don't qualify for quarters worked in the past 10 years and if you are drawing VA 100% then you do not qualify for SSI which is a needs based program

You should check to see if Social Security gave credit for the quarters you served in Military and also on the application for SSD make sure you use the date you last worked and not the day you are filing. Its important and can help you get the benefits you probably paid for.

to many people don't apply for SSD till they have not been working for a long time and lose their benefits cause they don't understand how it is supposed to work.

If I wasn't all ready collecting both, I would be totally confused reading these replies.

I collect 100% P&T, TDIU service connected and SSDI.

The amount of my SSDI is based on my earnings and you can get that info from SSA.

Neither amount is reduced.

Several years ago I got the info from this forum.

Hope this helps.

Supplemental Social Security (SSI) has a limit its less than 900/mo

Social Security Disability (SSDI) has no limit.

I recieved my notice I didn't qualify for SSI when I applied for SSDI.
