Dale Jr. 8
No, I haven't saw the info yet. I have an appt. next week at the VAMC and it will be interesting to see if the rate has been changed. I have always thought that the 11 cents a mile was very low. If they are going to pay you mileage than they should at least pay what DOD pays. HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted January 28, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 28, 2008 Wonder if the VAMC will raise their cut from 3 dollars per trip?
HadIt.com Elder cowgirl Posted January 28, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 28, 2008 What does $3.oo a trip mean? Do you mean the employees get that amount? Also, is the reimbursement amount for vets dependent on the distance or does everyone get the amount? I have never claimed for it and have had several trips to the VA for scheduled appointments, xray exams and medicines. Thanks a bunch, 28cents adds up! steve&pat
AT THE VA HOSPITALS HERE IN MINNESOTA THERE IS A $6,00 FEE TAKEN OFF EACH TRAVEL PAY EXCHANGE WHICH THEY CLAIM GOES TO THE VETERANS TRANSPORTATION VAN SYSTEM,(seems like a stupid way to support the system by taking money from the disabled who least can afford it) .THE MILEAGE HAS BEEN 11 cents A MILE SINCE THE 70s. BUT WHEN I WAS CALLED TO COME TO THE VETERNS AFFAIRS AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING THE TRAVEL WAS 34 cents a MILE IN THE 80s. AT THIS POINT (AT 11 CENTS)MY TOYOTA ECHO was just breaking even 36 -40 miles /gallon. MAYBE I CAN DRIVE THE FORD NOW.(COMFORT) STEVE & PAT
HadIt.com Elder evandc Posted January 28, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 28, 2008 The VA takes $6 for first 3(round trip) visits each month. After that, nothing is taken from travel for rest of that month. For C & P or AO Exam there is no deductible. Been getting same travel for more than 30 years.
