Jerrel Cook is hosting this show at SVR radio/PC and I just got off phone with him-so no press-net release has been prepared yet to post here-

This issue is by far an important one and the news from the hearing today is making its way through the media.

Judy (of United We Roll) and I will be joining Jerrel for this show and please dont hesitate to call in -1-877-213-4329 Toll Free -if you want to share your feelings on this very important matter.

The VA simply has not done enough to insure every veteran will receive appropriate mental health care if they suffer from the stress of battle- be it in-theatre battle or on the paper battlefield of the claims process.

SVR show- 6:30 EDT Wednesday night.

Your media player will pick up the audio- join the Chat Star if you want to come into the chat room .

I came very close to committing suicide during the Christmas holidays the year my husband died. No one at VA seemed to care at the time. That is why I asked about the OMI in another post.

Thanks for listening.

I listened to that weasel Peake defending the head of mental health at the VA. It was on ABC news tonight. He looked like a deer in the headlights. I bet the former General is not used to being on the receiving end.

This SVR show should be very good. I will be in the chat room listening for sure.

Excerpt from the 'Declaration of Independence'

We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity

Berta,

OK, I give up, please help me - I am a techno know nothing and when I went to the link to listen after the fact this evening I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I went to the Project Shad link but can't find tonight's radio show.

Would you please post a link to the show?

Thanks,

Berta,

If I click the Listen Live button it takes me to small box and the radio program that's currently playing and there is no list of archived shows on the bottom left.

However, if I just go to the stardust link you posted and don't click the Listen Live button there is a list of Listen to and download current and 30 day show Archives Here but it only lists shows from March 5, 12, 26. Jim Strickland's show was April 9th.

I have even emailed SVR and requested a MP3 download from them for the April 9 show with Jim Strickland but haven't heard from them.

How do I either listen to or get a copy of the April 9th show with Jim Strickland?

Thanks - TS

Here's a quick copy/paste of what's on their website.

" right click and save as" or just click to play in your media player

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”
