Compensation For Bulging Discs....

I found out today that I have 2 bulging discs in my neck, C 4/5 and C 5/6, from a injury that had happened when I was on active duty for deployment to Iraq. Also, I am now on bloop pressure meds since returning and I had kidney stones for the first time while in Iraq. Have had problems with the stones twice since then. Any chance I can get compensation for this? Thanks for the help.

High Blood pressure is a presumptive condition that can be service connected to your date of discherge if within 1 year.

The kidney stones and their root cause may be connected.

The bulging disk may also be service connected.

You need to file the claim now and do not wait.

If I were you I would get a Private Doc to look at your history and write an opinion about yur BP, Kidney Stones and Disks.

You should hava some success.

If the VA receives your claim within one year after your discharge date-the compensation will be retroactive to the day after you left the military-

Also do you have cmplete copy of your SMRs and do any or all of these conditions show up noted on your discharge physical-?

Many veterans and civilians like me asked the Dole Shalala Committee to follow our recommendations-

Were you given a briefing from the VA as to any benefits they offer and did the briefing include advising you to find a veterans representation to help with your claim?

Did the Military via the transition process-suggest that you keep in contact with your unit after service and did they give you a list of veterans sites like hadit on the net?

Was the inservice injury well documented in your SMRs?

You certainly should have a very valid claim for compensation-

it is hard to detemine how they will rate it.
