Chancer:

Welcome to Hadit. What are you claiming? By the way QTC has usually gotten to the exams fairly quickly. I think that the VA pays them after they write their report.

Hi Pete,

PTSD. I was denied 3 years ago when I first came back from Iraq. I am going to a QTC contractor, so I am skeptical. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I would consider a independent medical report rather than just rely on the VA to grant service connection for PTSD. What is the VA disputing? Did they accept your stressor? Are they saying you don't have PTSD? Do you have combat awards?

Chancer,

I would most definitely listen to John, for it took an Independent

Medical Opinion for me to win my benefits.

The VA had me tied in knots with their C&P's.

I went to the BVA to the AMC and then I secured the IME and then

back to the BVA Judge.

I tied up almost 5 years, for I did not know to go to an expert for

his expert opinion.

I wouldn't want anyone to waste as much time as I did to prove a

claim.

In fact it actually took me all my life to prove the claim.

The retro was 16 years and a large, but I would have rather saved

myself all that time and settled it much sooner.

Had I had enough sense to know that the VA had not acquired my

Military Psychiatric Records upon my first filing.

After that many years, they low balled me, but within the years

end, I will get a lawyer to go for it.

Just my thoughts.

Betty

That's a good idea about IME. I will also send the VA my medical records from the VA hospital?? Or, will they have access to those. Thanks for sharing your info. It sounds like it took you a lot of time and energy to get your benefits. I am glad it worked out for you.
