Hello Charles,,,,,Merry Christmas to you. I am trying to get my sleep medication thru the VA but it only allows 14 per 6months as my PCP tells me that it is a nonformulary list. It is Zolpidem or common called Ambian. My personal private Doctor prescribes it for me but the cost is tough on it. There must be a way to get this prescription thru proper VA channels to my PCP VA doctor. Do you have any thoughts or ideas on this. This has really helped me to get to sleep at night when the pain is so bad it can leave one crying. Thanks again. God Bless, C.C. NEVER GIVE UP

Ambien is expensive that is why they don't want to prescribe it. They want you to take temazapam. That is also why they don't prescribe celebrex and that class of drugs.

The generic Zopediem (sp?) is only $10 co-pay for some people tht have private insurance.....I know this doesn't help in your case, but push for what you need.
