Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

You’ve just been rated 100% disabled by the Veterans Affairs. After the excitement of finally having the rating you deserve wears off, you start asking questions. One of the first questions that you might ask is this: It’s a legitimate question – rare is the Veteran that finds themselves sitting on the couch eating bon-bons … Continue reading

Ricky,

Exactly my thoughts also. Now, the Service Manager is stating the

Appeals Team is reviewing this claim.

This claim is re-opened also to 1992 and I think the VA

has been trying to sweep it under the rug.

I have been telling the VA for 5 years, the claim has never

been adjudicated.

Thanks,

Betty

If you haven't already, don't you think you should request a copy of the decision they say they sent you? If you can, it would save time if you went to the VARO and ask then for a copy of the DRO decision for your records, since you do not remember ever receiving said decision around the time they said they sent it and you have been unable to find such a decision letter in your own records of the claim.

If they can not provide a copy of the decision by the DRO, then I would suggest that the claim does appear to still be open for adjudication and I would most certainly request a hearing with the DRO on the matter.

Ricky,

Glad we see eye to eye here my friend - hahahahahaha. If they can not produce a copy of the decision they say they made and this DRO review results in some type of award with a different effective date then you will have a CUE claim.

Hang in there and don't let up on this choke hold you now have on them. Tighten it up a bit and make them gasp for air for it seems as of your last win you now have them in a tight spot.

I have followed your posts for many many moons and I am very happy that things have begun to tip the scales in your favor. Remember tighten until the ole service center manager's eyes bulge and he/she gasps for air and begs for mercy - for this is what they have done to you over the years - keep the ole eye for an eye in mind and never ever think that you are being mean when it comes to the VA!!!!!!!! This is actually a blood sports game and you gotta be the one that bleeds less in order to win.

Ricky - Wishing the best for all veterans and their families.

Ricky,

The R. O was so busy trying to figure out a way to deny me for chronic anxiety, they dropped the ball on this claim.

I kept my mouth shut while my claim was at the BVA, but I did

mention the headache claim in my Form -9 that no one would

adjudicate the claim. The BVA did not mention the claim either.

The letter I posted is it. I heard no more from the VA until

the October 7, 2004 SOC denying me for chronic anxiety and calling

it a personality disorder. The word headache is not mentioned

one time in that October 7 Statement of the Case.

Both of my C&P's list headaches and so does my SMR's and in the

NSC which was denied due to excessive income they gave me a 10%

for headaches.

I am going to keep them running for I am sick of their lies.

Someone has that darn TDIU Form that was turned in May 28th.

I am about ready to call that South Carolina toll free number

to see if anyone has logged in that long lost paper.

Thanks Ricky, I sure appreciate your support,

Betty
