The way things are shaping up based on the CPI from SS it is looking "more likley than not" we will be topping out at 3.5%-4% on our cola's for 08.

I know it should be higher but we know how they get around the true CPI but it will be better than the last, but will still not reflect what is needed in todays cost.

Federal retires cola thru June is 5.7 with 3 months to go. I believe the VA and SSA will pay the same also.

if this holds true we might actually see a 5.5 - 7 % COLA Congress is going to chit buckets if it happens

Shows 5.7% so far. I can't see us getting less than 5%, but it won't help with the rising costs all that much. Everything has gone up more than that for me.
