Can any of the Florida Veterans advise if 100% P&T ( IU )Veterans get any type of brake on real estate taxes in Florida? I am thinking of purchasing a home in Coca Beach Florida. Any other benefits available to Vets ( living in Florida )?

In Florida 100% Disabled Veterans with a letter attesting to that fact from the Va are exempt from all the real estate taxes with the exception of the recycling portion (about 89.00) per year. You can also have one car registered with DV plates for free and your drivers license is free once you register with the Florida division of Veteran Services as a 100% P&T Vet.

When I called the tax office in Florida, the lady there told me you reduce $5,000 of the price of your house. The estate exemption says the same thing. Veterans rated between 10%-100% but not total and permanent get to subtract $5,000 from the value of the house. Not much.
