Good- even with 100 % P & T -a vet should try to get a SC rating for any other sc condition they have too-

it might in the long run set them up for SMC and in the event of their death-and we never know what we might die from- so if any SC is listed as contributing to death-the widow or widower will have less problems getting DIC.

Hopefully the Modernization Act of 2008 (ask your reps to support this important veterans bill)will pass and they actually remembered all widows and widowers in it and are asking for VA to stop the practice of allowing claims to die with the veteran.

As it is a widow-widower has to 'resurrect' any pending claim themself-

this is ridiculous.

They could even get a statement like the one I got from Rod's DAV NSO years ago-"Mrs Simmons- The veteran's claims (he had two pending) died with the veteran" and I had to remind him "Look buddy , 38 CFR says I can resurrect them and re-open them in my name."

Some of those dumb reps and NSOs still say that to survivors.

thanks Berta Thats way I'm doing this for my family
