ptsd Ptst Denide Then Extracted Gad Question

I was denided ptsd in Jan. 2008. Then the va extracted GAD out of the denial for ptsd. I called the 800# and was told the appeal for gad was completed on May 1, 2008. I haven't got a decision yet. I hade 3 other appeals going on at the same time for over two years and all 3 were denide in June, 2008. I just sent in the form to have the 3 denials sent to the bva. My question is since I elected to have my other 3 denials sent to bva will the dro now rate or denie my appeal for GAD? It is very hard to get info from anyone even my DAV rep.

Well I think that you proved a PTSD Stressor but I have often advised on this Board that if VA will not accept PTSD one of the Anxiety Cousins can work. Anyone with PTSD will also have have a much easier diagnosable condition such as Major Depression, Panic Disorder and or GAD.

Since the VA is helping you I would go with the flow. Just my opinion. Are you able to work? If not have you applied for Social Security Disability?
