Going For Fee Based Care

Question

The RN I've been seeing the past 4-5 years for therapy has gotten a promotion and the VA will no longer allow her to see pts. Her and I were in the middle of some very intensive one-on-one MST PTSD therapy as well and they won't even allow her to finish that with me (after they initially told her she could). Needless to say this is extremely, extremely stressful.

Long story short....the RN and another tdoc have decided that I'm too unstable to continue the PTSD therapy anyway with a new person. So that's out right now. But the RN knows that I can't go without supportive-type therapy and my final appt with her is next week.....and she told me today that right now, no one at the Dayton VA can provide that kind of therapy. (I wonder what they do there?) Despite the fact that they supposedly just hired 25 new tdocs and social workers!!

So she is going to try to fee base me out to a civilian provider that she knows.

Anyone here ever get fee based care for mental health? Wish me luck.
