Question

this has probably been covered before but i could not find it in a search.one of my claims is for hearing loss from service related issues.i have been granted 10% tinnitus and 0% sc hearing loss in 1984.it took me from 1977 to get that. now i have filed for an increase ans some other things as well.my cand p was 2 weeks ago and the audiologist stated i had severe loss in bilateral ears. and she was sending the report to the va.

if granted will they go back to the 84 date or to the more current filing?

simple,

It would relate to the date you filed for an increase of

disability percentage for the hearing loss.

FYI, don't equate the fact that the Audiologist states Severe

equals a monetary compensation percentage for Hearing Impairment,

the percentage is figured by 2 or 3 tables in VA's Schedule for

Rating Disabilities (38CFR, Part 4).

jmho,

carlie
