Back Pay

Rate this question

Question

The VA owes me several months of back pay due to approved increase in rating. One claim is still pending further testing and subsequent evaluation. Does anyone know whether the VA will go ahead and pay the back pay for the claim that's been approved? Or will they wait until all claims are finalized?

On approved issues, you willget an award letter that will usually state that the undecided issue is still being processed or is being deferred to a later date.

If you have a heads up, keep an eye onthe bank account balance as it usually arrives before the letter.

As others have stated, the approved parts of your claim will be paid without waiting for resolution of the pending elements.
