Question

Had some really bad days here lately. I have been screwed up physically since 94 and totally disabled since 05. I have had my bank account frozen my VA check was deposited and nothing I could do $756. due to back child support. First it started off with my DL's suspended and I have been going around with this guy at the Florida Child Support services for 3 month+. I finally got him what he needed to stop action and it pissed him off so bad he went and talk to his buddy in the same floor and had my Bank account frozen that very same day without my knowledge 22Aug08 and I have direct deposit. So I can't pay rent or nothing thank god we have welfare card. They used the Patriot Act in order to do this they no longer have to get a court order to freeze bank accounts. The State and Local governments can now freeze assets at a computer without a court order or notice. I had borrowed money to pay a power bill and phone the day he took action and they (State of Fl) froze the account without any warning notice. Yep, we have come a long way as a country, Yup people come here to live the American dream because they don't have to pay for it and hardly/barely subject to its laws and don't have to pay for it. We pass laws to protect us from terrorist and they turn around and use them on us Americans...............

If somehow you run afoul of the patriot act either becasue you end up on a watch list or someone's list forget ever getting a straight answer from homeland security. They will neither confirm nor deny you are on any such list, or that you are a suspect or that they are using any methods to investigate you. They did or do have the power to go to your local library and see what kind of books you are reading. I was or still am on such a list. This act is a lot more comprehensive and invasive than most think. The Act is being used in ways never contemplated by congress. If you end up in Egypt getting your finger nails pulled out please forget my email address. Oh, if they start to do that you will tell them anyway so forget about it. How is the food in Syria?

John999, I can count on you for a good laugh. There is more then just a No Fly list and large account transfers. I doubt they take me to Syria to for the local cuisine, but they can freeze your accounts the very same day with out lien or notification. And you are powerless, I know I'll get this money back but is was a way to hassle me. But I will get to the bottom of it and we'll see what we turn up on why my accounts was frozen hours later I turned it medical evidence for the 10th time.....

I think it's time to let these needle-weiner SOB's learn what PTSD is all about... B)

Right after 9/11 I was traveling, every two weeks, either outta DFW for Newark or outta DFW for John Wayne (kept a car RENTED at all THREE airports, it was cheaper to do that, and rent 'em by the month than it was to rent one evertime I landed, seriously, even at the home base DFW. Either that, or I had my OWN car parked at DFW, in the $10 bucks a day, your car is rotting in the Texas sun, parking lot, except for two day outta 14).

Anyway, I got SO darned tired of my, ME, THE OLD WHITE GUY WITH THE USMC CAP ON, YOU KNOW, THE ONE THAT FLYS ALLLLLL THE TIME, THE MULTI-PLATINUM DUDE, getting hassled at the check-in and boarding, by the ALL BETTER AND IMPROVED TSA. I'd be standing, holding my shoes and belt in one hand and keeping my pants up with the other while trying to watch my, at that time, $3000 IBM laptop, and juggling my keys and watch and boarding pass and....well, you know. And, all the while the three middle-eastern, 20somethings are grinnin at me and walking on by, to board before me, while the TSA is scared to death of them...not because of the fact that the SOB's just made a hole in the ground in Manhattan, but because one of them 20yo Muslims might complain about being "racially descriminated against".

I finally just had me a freakin fit, about the 12th time that happened to me.........yup, complete with being escorted to........the.....back.....office....... Where I told them "You know, why in the hell don't you just put my name on the "DO NOT FLY LIST", along with EVERYOTHER AMERICAN.......then you'd either be outta a job.......or you'd HAVE to search one of those raghead-wearin, American-hating, Wife-beating, Sons-Of-Sheiks.

I haven't been stopped since then.

Larry,

that is very interesting; they must have gotten your point.

Well, errr, yeah.........it coulda been that I was such a forceful, straight-forward, convincing guy........or it coulda been that I, welllll, ahhhh.........made a brief, ah, statement, that, well, maybe they wouldn't be treating my brother, the Federal District Judge, thataway..... ..but, I'm reasonably CERTAIN that that had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the fact that, hey, they haven't bothered me since then.
