Just found a place "on line" that I can finish up my degree.

What the heck, why not?

Wellll, on second thought, what would that do to my 100% P&T?

I mean, it's not like I'd ever be able to actually work as a lawyer. I'd just like to be able to say I finished SOMETHING before I died.

If I DID try to "practice" law, I'd be my second client.

My first client, I'd choke the sh*t out of!

(kinda like Danny DeVito in that movie.........I can just see me in front of the judge and jury, actually TRYING a case)

oh well, it's a dream, but a do-able one.

Like Berta I to am about to begin at AMU. It did take them awhile to get all my transcripts from the other colleges I attented. I already have 60 units done and now that I have been on IU for almost 2 years I need something to do. I chose the legal law degree my 60 units are in CJustice but since having ptsd I think being a cop is out of the question. Plus cops scare the shit out of me I am afraid that one going to say something that sets me off and I end up in jail. I do have to pay out of pocket but I also would like to have something on my side just incase the VA kicks me off the payroll. Plus it is done all on line I can imagine what the VA would say if they found out I was attending school at a campus. I dont think I would go to law school but maybe pursue a master degree. So AMU has got all my transcripts and now it takes 4-6 weeks to eval all my units. Your never to old to get your education and nobody can ever take it away from you. I say go for it larry.

I have a master's degree in sociology....which explains my finacial failure in life.

So it is possible to get a law degree over the internet in less than ten years? If I got a law degree I would want to practice, but then I would probably lose IU forever. School is good, however. I loved going to college. It was the only thing I was good at being a student. I can't even sit in a classroom because I tried gemology but could not stand sitting for hours in class. Some kind of self paced course work. Those internet classes do tend to be expensive if they are from real schools. I think it is still worthwhile.

I looked at that Phoenix University.

Around $500 a credit hour.............sounds kinda pricey. Scared me away for a couple of years.

I'm looking at a couple of "name brand" colleges (Loyola and U of P).....still checking 'em out. Waiting for answers as to what, that I have, will "transfer".

Of course, I'm not going back to school if I have to attend any kind of classroom hours or if I have to be "proctored" (sounds like something they'd do to ya at the PROCTolgist's office, anyhow). I can't "be somewhere" if it requires my physical attendance. Driving and Drugs don't mix (Don't dope and drive.), but, at least I wouldn't wind up making MADD mad.

I donna know, "law" was once my "major", but I spent more time AT the bar instead of studying FOR the bar...........ah, the memorys of an ill-spent youth............oh, sorry, I nodded off there for a second.

All my family were, at one time or another, lawyers (Brother, Sister-In-Law(s), Grandfather(s), Uncle, Aunt). I think I was a big disappointment.........something about misery that loves company, I guess, 'cause every damn one of them were alchoholics and took themselves WAAAAYY too seriously.

Anyway, thanks for all y'all and the kind words of encouragement. I'm gonna "gopher it".

Might just decide to do some "VA" lawyering. Free. That way they can't take away anything. Right?

John, if you have a master's in sociology---------does that make you a socialist?

Larry

If socialism is good enough for AIG, Wall Street, and Freddie Mac then it is good enough for me. I am an anarchist. I want to see the whole system come down except for my IRA, heh, heh.

In my own opinion, if someone has disabilities, but still has the gray matter to learn, remember, and apply what you have learned, then by all means go for it. I might even suggest to those who are only thinking of it and have concerns they may not have what it takes to continue your education. You won't know until you try and even if you find what you had in mind was beyond your capabilities, you will have a better understanding what is and can adjust your life and future learning accordingly.

Best of luck in your indever and if you do become an attorney, I hope you have time to do some probono work for Veterans who are having trouble getting what is due them.
