you need to notify them or save the over payemnts because when they catch them they will with hold until they get their over paymenst back and they declare you even even if it is their fault the check recipient is the one who suffers since you know it can cause an over payment then YOU need to safe guard the extra until the mess gets straight otherwise Xmas will get ugly you know how the govt is if we owe them NOW pay me NOW we owe you well when we get around to it life ain't fair

good god. social security need not know what your sc award is. doesnt matter how much or what percentage. it is tax free kids.

and. there is a big difference between ssd (social security disability) and ssi (social security insurance)

ssd accrues as one works. if you have not met the cutoff numbers to recieve ssd, you get the safety net ssi award.....about 700 bucks a month. report NOTHING. they'll tell you that anyway.

social security is taxable if you meet the taxable guidelines (married, joint incomes, property etc) ssi + 30 percent sc alone is not taxable. people who received ssi alone this year were ineligible for that 350.00 dollar stimulus plan. stupid government.

Wow, someone gave you some bad poop. SSI stands for Supplemental Security Income. It is a needs based, federally supported welfare program overseen by the social security gurus, for low income famalies. If you withhold information about changes in your income status then that constitutes fraud - so yes they do have a need to know about your SC comp for it will definitley reduce your SSI payments.

OK ANOTHER STUPID QUESTION ON MY PART. WILL VA NOTIFY SSI OF SERVICE CONNECTED CHANGE OR WILL THEY DRAG ASS AND CAUSE OVERPAYMENT BY SSI.

I KNOW PENSION NOTIIED THEM EVERY TIME THERE WAS A CHANGE.

well i got my ssi for being disabled i did not have enough credits to get

regular social security even though i worked since i wass 17 years old

until about 10 years ago and i just let time get by me . i was stupid!

then i got on pension , and ssi deducted from pension. you better believe i

notified them , i would not be able to live with a gigantic overpayment.

any way they said va notified them when i was on pension ,but i notified them

just in case va was slow, you know how they are,and cause you an overpayment.
