Social Security Benefits

Hello All,

This Jim's wife Marie.............I would like to know if it is posted some where here on the forum about Social Security benefits for a spouse

after the Vet has recently been awarded 100% disability benefits. Jim is getting Social Benefits already ( started getting them before the VA benefits).

I tried to word this the best I could :P Also please keep Jim in your prayers................he's not doing well.

Marie,

Anyone correct me if I am wrong. I have been down this path.

In order to draw SS benefits even though your husband is drawing them, you will have to be age 62. If you meet this, no problem.

Thank you Betty for your prayers................it's been a rough week for us.

Yes: I know about SS @age 62...............I think this is about some type of 'military' credit from Social Security for veterans that Social Security will not tell you about unless you ask................(if you are 100% VA disabled). Anyway I will not trouble you all anymore............when Jim is better we will go to the SS office.

The VA used to ignore SSD grants but now they pretty much accept it provided it is for something with a diagnosis that is current and a nexus to Service.
