Yea, this will accualy be a good raise. I took it a step further and reduced my insurance premium by 70 bucks a month due to OPM open season, man was that a chore trying to figure out what would be best with medicare.

I think when this all shakes down I will gain an extra 350 per month, which I will apply directly to my mortgage.

Carlie,

Because your SSDI amount is low, may I ask if the reason is that you did not have enough credits when you were approved?

iraqx2,

In order to get SSD you have to have enough work credits.

Those without enough work credits get SSI.

What is your SSD amount per month ?

Which OPM plan did you choose? I have BC/BS. I have the family plan so it has to co-ordinate with ChampVA and Medicare. I was a postal worker. Since I have SSD my Disability retirement was reduced by 60%, so most of my pensin goes to my medical insurance.
