You can fill the application out online and BINGO they got it.

They are, by-the-way, one hell of a lot faster than anything else that you have ever dealt with, concerning the VA.

You might actually hear back from them.

Soon.

OOOOPS......I just noticed, that above addy is for CHAMPVA not the Service Disabled Life Insurance.

Broncovet has listed the CORRECT addy. Sorry.

I recommend it. Mine is free. Easiest way to apply is online at:

http://www.insurance.va.gov/inForceGliSite/buying/SDVI.htm

also at that website you can get answers to your questions.

I recommend you GO AHEAD AND APPLY. If you are not approved, you wont have to keep it. If you are approved, they can also do a waiver of premiums. I get a waiver of premiums even tho I am only 40 % disabled.

It is a cash value policy..it builds up around $250 of cash a year. Even if you dont need the life insurance, my guess is you could use an extra $250 per year. (You can "borrow" from the cash, or cash the policy in. I recommend you keep the policy..let it build cash. If I remember right, it builds up $10000 cash in 20 years or so. That means after 20 , you can cash the policy in and collect $10,000.

It is like throwing money away if you dont apply. JMHO
