Amc - How Long Has Your Case Been There?

Rate this question

Question

My service rep called me today and informed me that his man on the inside told him that AMC had recently cleared out the "old cases" 2003 and earlier, and were working on 2004 cases. Since my case is a March 2004 case, my eyebrows went up a bit, but I thought I would check here on the board and see if there were folks out there that had a pending case filed earlier than mine that was at AMC who have yet to hear any word in writing about their appeal. I want to corroborate that information with you and yours. Something tells me I can believe you more than them.

Thanks again for the honor of belonging to this great group of people helping people,

akwidow

Yes, I read your advice and have taken it to heart. I understand your doubts about my case, and I also realize that you are not in receipt of my documentation. My service rep thinks I have a very strong case...but what do they know? My meager representation of the case in 2004 when I was grief stricken and unable to flesh out the details was nevertheless picked up by lawyers for my service rep and carried to USVCA where it received the remand. In my thinking, there must be some merit to it, or there would be no more case. I feel as you do, that action is better than no action, and like the good book says, "ask not and ye shall not receive".

Cheers, and carry on in your battle as I will mine. I support you 100%.

I am going to send my evidence on disks to others in VA system just in case the letter I am preparing (to include all of the evidence again-gets lost, mishandled or shredded.

Again.

I am a little concerned that they might misunderstand what is in the packet with the disk.

They were in an uproar when I sent them some of my husband's ashes in 1996, as evidence for my DIC claim.

I had by then 2 or 3 denials.Award came a few months later.

The AMC farmed me out to Seattle VARO who made a decision in 5 days after receipt -without any of my evidence.

I put the Onus on AMC as I have the tracking slips that showed the AMC not only got this all again from me, but I even sent Dir. Russo a letter of concern because they said they didnt get it- and then they said they had received it.

But I charged them with getting it and then destroying it.

I hope you read the advise I posted in the other forum to you.

DIC claims can be very difficult.

The death of the veteran must have been caused or contributed to by a service connected disability.

There are other DIC scenarios too but I dont think they would apply to you.

They are all found here at hadit.

akwidow- you might want to post this in claims research because I didnt mean to sound negative, I just pointed out the holes I saw in the claim and-as you said- there is more to this all-

others there can give you more advise.

Please mention if you post in claims research as New Topic -that Berta suggested you post there- to seek other opinions and advise.
