Treasure Island (toxic Waste Dump)

Recommended Posts

I was stationed at Treasure Island Naval Base around the late 1980 early 1981. I was a corpsman at the branch clinic. I am trying to get info about reasons behind the closure of the base. I saw online that one of the barracks was built on to of an ammo dump and the water table was contaminated. I am currently suffering from diabetes and wander if that could have been the cause

I was stationed at Treasure Island Breanch Clinic in late 1980/early 1981. I also was housed at Barracks 12. How do I find out more about what waste was there at that time and what are my options about claims?
