Here is a response from an iris inquiry. At least I know what is going on.

t&b

This is in response to your inquiries dated May 21, and May 24, 2009, regarding your current claim, and independent living program.

Upon researching your file, we see the DRO had examined your appeals case and has taken into account the additional evidence submitted by your attorney. Also, your appeal indicates it is not now ready for a decision and has been sent to the rating board for final review and a rating. Even after a decision has been made, there are several administrative steps that must be completed before we finalize your claim. Once completed you will receive a notification letter in the mail explaining the decision in detail.

Also your file shows the request from your private attorney for a copy of your C-file, which was sent to be copied and sent to them in to process on February 24, 2009. In addition, vocational rehab (voc rehab) is also working on your claim. Unfortunately we do not have a date they will contact you regarding the decision for the independent living program. Please be assured, however, they are currently working on your case, as indicated in your file.

Thank you for contacting us. If you have questions or need additional help with the information in our reply, please respond to this message or see our other contact information below.

Sincerely yours,

E. J. Kruse

Carlie or anyone, I am curious as to why the dro sent my claim back to the rating board, for rating and further review. I recieved an soc last week stating that they were going to raise my percentage to 50%. Do you think that the dro sent my claim to the rating board so they can file with the Director of Compensation and Pension in DC, for extra schedular approval, for tdiu. From what I understand this is how you get tdiu if your percentage is not a 70%. I thought if a dro rates you at 50% that was it. Also they said my claim is "not now ready for a decision", so it makes me think there is something else going on. Maybe I am reading betwwen the lines or thinking to much.
