Hello all, I recieved a call from VA and I was told I have an initial disability rating at 80%. I am not sure how it is broke down yet, but mostly back issues, sciatica etc. I was told that RO suggested I file for IU. Is it the norm to wait for the VA decision on it before trying to file for SSD? Can I file for SSD?

You should go ahead and file for SSDI as there is no benefit waiting on the VA stuff.

This is tricky but you should ask the VARO to consider TDIU as part of your award. You should file for SSD next Monday. You can do it online.

You need to complete the IU form and file it asap. The VA will not grant IU without the form being filled out.

File for SSDI also.

Fill out the form and ask that it be considered with award.

If you use the DAV, they can file for both Social Security and Unemployablility with the VA. It is better to have one organization to go to than two. The Disabled Vet's is the only service organization that can do Social Security Claims.
